What happened in Mariupol was terrible... but only came to light after the event ... so nobody could have done anything to stop it ... what's happening in Gaza is current and ongoing ... and involves not the population of a single town or city but the constant bombing of refugee camps, schools, churches, mosques, over 100 separate strikes on hospitals and health centres, civilian convoys and the latest an aid convoy vehicle ...

Speaking out is having an impact - the UN is condemning the Israeli actions and is referring to them as war crimes- even US support is wobbling and the demonstrations around the world are not anti-Semitic or anti-Jewish, they are anti Israeli state terrorism...

The Tory party is on the brink of a complete and utter collapse, we are at a point that Cameron resembles a decent liberal with some nice ideas. Remember when the Tory party was focused on LGBT rights and made mild comments about immigration? It utter insanity the difference between 2010 and now, they're a completely different beast.

The issue, which is constantly overlooked is that in 2010 we elected a coalition government. It was not a purely Tory government, it had a ton of Lib Dems in it that completely negated the power of the Tory backbenches.

There was a documentary I watched a few years back which is still on Youtube, it was about Cameron's time as prime minister, from their own words both Cameron and Osborne admit that they specifically requested to run in the 2015 as a coalition with the Liberal Democrats a second time. So, Lib Dem seats would be safe from Tory voters.

The reason for this was again, to keep the coalition in place and prevent the backbench gaining too much power.

The Lib Dems rejected this as Cameron had already pledged a EU referendum which was completely against the Lib Dem EU policy.

The coalition collapsed with the Lib Dems suffering worse and the Torys devolved into civil war madness as did the Labour Party.

I wonder on the state of the UK today, if Clegg would have accepted that proposal.
