Because over the last few days theres been so much ****e talked about in terms literally no one uses except trying to sound clever on a football forum.
No, but you might notice that that comment was in reply to my post, which he was quoting. So it was actually a conversation involving me. You'll also notice that the whole point stemmed from a technical analytics video on passages of play, with no one claiming it's common language but rather a technical analysis. You're the one that claimed because you don't use words down at the pub they aren't real.
It's easier to ignore it, but it's up to you. I don't use the same terms as you're angry at, but accept it's part of football evolving. Just as it always has done and will continue to do so. There's far worse on here, in my opinion. Some posters have literally been posting the same old ****e for over a decade (at least). They could easily be bots. No one would notice.
That's great. Sydney making up stuff about other peoples posts as he interprets them completely wrong again shocker. Never said they aren't real, said no one actually uses them when talking about football in general. You're using them on a forum to sound clever or something maybe, who knows.
Yeah i agree with you, theres been a lot and i mean a lot of tedious and pointless ****e on here, i just find these terms people like Syd uses extremely cringey, when no one actually says this in person.
What terms do I use? And to be clear - does the bit in bold mean you think those terms aren't really used?
What will likely happen is that it will eventually spill out into common football parlance. Cultural change, for better or worse, will happen.
Right, aka not real? Not really used? As you've since said a second time. How about not getting so wound up and wading into a conversation halfway through? I don't use these terms, I said they're analytical jargon. Why are you claiming I use them?
When have I used transitions? Our manager uses it, by the way. Low block is a real term, even if you want to claim it isn't. If that upsets you I'm sorry.
Yes, apart from twitter stuff like opta stats and you on this football forum. Ever heard anyone at the football ground use those words? I've had a City season pass for 23 years and never heard it once. How many football games do you go to, not just City but whoever, and be honest do you hear other fans talking like that?
You've literally been talking about theis kind of stuff in a few threads, i could go through and reply to them all but i cant be bothered. It might have been GEvans or Kalman, can't remember who but they actually replied to you talking like this which brought up the whole "imagine using this talk in the pub". Anyway, back to work now.
I don't know why this winds you up so much. I hear a lot of people using a lot of terminology in a lot of different contexts and I never get angry at the language people use to describe the sport.
Not sure Kalman is a good call back here as he's very technically proficient in his analysis of the game. GEvans the less said about the better. Another angry man.
I'm not angry whatsoever, just pointing out that talk is bollocks in football grounds and with anyone ive ever had a conversation about to do with football. You hear it with your aussie mates thats fine, you are massive football fans over there and know much more than others.
You've been very sweary and agressive for someone not angry, but good to hear. Have a good day at work.
