I think Trippier is way better when crossing from open play, we don't have anyone also that seems to attack corners or free kicks. Botman is particularly poor at that, Lascelles could teach him a thing or two there. Botman is a UNIT but he's had perhaps two clean headers while at Newcastle

Apart from PSG I think Howe has looked out of his depth in the CL. I mean, it’s his first rodeo and he’ll learn but this season the squad management and lack of tactical nous have hit us quite hard. Terzic, Dortmund’s head coach, seems better than Howe. Their scouting and recruitment appears better and I think there’s some things to be mindful of as we grow. To be without around 7 first team players isn’t bad luck. It’s bad management. Yes he can’t do much about Joelinton missing a sitter. But the tactics never worked and be kept making weird changes that didn’t help. Livramento was our main threat and he took him out of it panicking about Adeyemi. Stupid and naive. Some players just aren’t up to the big games - Bruno chief amongst them. I’d look to sell in the summer, I think he is too impactful on our play and sometimes for the worse. All the big successful clubs play with an excellent CDM, sometimes two, we’re still pissing about with the “quarterback” and I think we need to evolve, just a bit. Another disappointing night, slightly better performance but we’re getting beat in Paris and EL is our best hope which is a crying shame.
Pointing things out is fine, its the whole point of the forums, different opinions etc. Some times stuff is said which doesn't make sense to me though. There is no way we'll get rid of Almiron, Longstaff, Lascelles, Murphy, Dummett etc in the summer. These guys will just eventually melt into the background as we buy better and better. We'd get zero money for them.
Yes and there seems to be some mental gymnastics taking place where if someone says longstaff is **** that they're unhappy with the general direction of the club.
