Don't believe you, no-one has ever spoken highly of me. I certainly ****ing don't. I know my station to station in life (reference to my favourite Ravey Davey Bowie album, even though he couldn't remember recording it). Off his napper on cocaine, milk and peppers, his staple diet at the time for a year o_O

They say the White Album was a classic single album stretched out into a mediocre double album (or George Martin did anyway). Station To Station is a decent EP just about making the status of being stretched out into a so-so LP. Not on the same planet as Hunky Dory or Ziggy Stardust.

I don't care much for most pop music much.

I do like Stereolab. B 52s. Cocteau twins, flock of seagulls. And Yello, they are fab

Muzak for Elevators in ****ty Shopping Malls.

The Beetles were ****ing drivel. Like Si says, a manufactured boy band aimed at pre-pubescent girlies. Rank ****ing awful.

Cliff Richard never comes to England, since he became a citizen of Barbados.

    Funny that

Low was an absolute masterpiece from that era. He went to Berlin to record it and get away from drugs at the same time. Pretty sure there was drugs in Berlin in the 70s, ****loads of em probably, so I'm not sure how that worked out. But the album still sounds fresh and futuristic now.

Totally. I have a soft spot for HD and Ziggy though as they were amongst the first albums I bought (or my elder sister bought, if I'm honest about HD). He was so ****ing different in all that era that he really did seem to come from Mars or further afield. Wasn't Low during his Nazi/Nietzsche, Man and Superman stuff as well (though there are references to that right back in HD if you listen)?

I read that he got off the drugs and turned to booze in a big way during the so called Berlin period. "Always Crashing In The Same Car" was reference to him in the gutter bladdered every night <laugh> Him and his mate Ziggy Pap. One of my favourite songs of his (and certainly not elevator muzak like the bastarding Beetles).

The **** was a genius in his pomp <ok>
