Good And i see you mention udogie, whats your take on him jumping in two footed studs up off the floor and getting a yellow? How bout Romero kicking out off the ball? Your league position was false because you had some ridiculous decisions go your way. Last night you got some of the worst decisions ive ever seen go your way. Thats it. Back in your fuking place
Yeah, the whole team does need to leads. That’s kind of what I’m getting at. Leaders don’t just become that when they get a position or an armband - no doubt some of what will be being dissected is why nobody got a hold of Romero and Udogie and calmed them down a bit after Destiny’s yellow and Romero’s lucky break. That’s what Son and Maddison, and other figures who clearly have somewhat of a leadership role like Bissouma, need to be doing.
Nice narrative. Believe me, if you had seen us play at all this season, you would know that our farcical finishing has nothing to do with you "being in our heads". Again, Spurs fans are trying to claim some credit for a completely ridiculous performance in a game that you should have won, just like in 2016. Yeah you had a couple of chances to equalise at 1-2, but you should never have been in the situation where you were 2 men down and trailing at home, especially with how poor we have been. Not all your players were at fault, but if I was Ange i'd be livid at Romero and Udogie, especially since their dismissals led to Maddison and VdV running themselves into the ground and getting injured. And that high line, with 9 men, when you have no pace in your back line, was suicide. Credit to your attacking players, who tried, but everyone else......
I doubt anyone will be able to tell Romero what to do to be honest, mate, lol. What’s worse is he’s in a position where he should be setting the example anyway and knowing when and when not to calm it a bit. I really do believe with Romero it’s about taking the rough with the smooth, his aggressiveness can massively help in defensive situations and also help towards attacks/ counter attacks but his recklessness can severely cost us over a number of games, as last night has with the defeat and now him missing the next three too. If he keeps up his general performances over the season and picks up no more than two reds, I can live with it as he’d basically be a B-tech Ramos (which is a compliment), if the reds become more frequent though, questions need to be raised about whether or not we’d be better off with a cooler head, even if there’s a strong possibility they won’t be as good - because when he’s not being an idiot, he’s a bloody superb CB.
Knew he was off on one as soon as he went rampaging up the pitch just before his kick. We were a goal up in the first half and in control of the game, it’s not like we were pushing for an equaliser late on. All our success this season has come from keeping our heads and playing our football, maybe he got caught up in the occasion, maybe someone got into his ear and he saw a bit of red. Either way it’s not acceptable for a VC to be so irrational. Yeah someone needed to get into them on the pitch and it obviously didn’t happen. I’m actually more concerned about the injuries after this game. If we still had VdV and Maddison was 100% ok then we could write this off as a thoroughly painful reality check but we’re going to have to answer some serious questions about the squad in the weeks ahead, including our young players. I do think we have 2 very good youth CBs in Phillips and Dorrington but it’s a massive step up for them to go into a PL game.
It was more a tongue in cheek comment as couple of them were so reckless. The louder and more hostile we can make it for the opposition I say, the better. Need to make it a place no one wants to come, a place if you have to play the game of your life to even have a sniff of scraping a point. I’m loving that every movement, decision, etc. has the fans all over it screaming for blood.
Thiago Silva was definitely needling him, IIRC it was just after Son's missed chance when we were 1-0 up
This guy’s gonna be a demon for us in time. Really like his style. An even bigger “**** sake, you idiot” to Romero for forcing us to take Johnson off.
I meant to put but bloody phone froze! I don’t disagree with that post Sucky, we had a lot of luck and then a few harsh decisions but overall it wasn’t the refs fault we lost and it annoys me when we blame the ref when it’s 2 players who let us down
Apparently Ange got booked last night for stepping outside his technical area - does can anyone confirm that? And if that is the case how do the ones who never stand in it avoid them?
“I think it was when the linesman didn’t put his flag up and I thought he was closing down Vic and he was offside. I think I went outside my technical area which is fair enough.” - Ange Postecoglou. As for your second question, your guess is as good as mine. Certain managers appear to do whatever they want.
He amuses me, much in the way that I watch : 1. a dog chasing its own tail, and wondering how stupid it is before realising the thing being chased is its own tail 2. Diego lurking here for ages, in the hope that he will have something to post about on the PL board ... < echo chamber >
