Yes, I believe so. If some of our western allies behaved like Ghadaffi, and put down a popular uprising using the tactics him and his mercenaries employed I would have no issue with us sending troops to help the rebels. The end justifies the means.

Never said I believed it 100%, but he was a pretty evil and ruthless bloke by all accounts, so why automatically disbelieve something when it's not at all out of character? Just because it doesn't fit in with the anti-British viewpoint all too prevalent on here? Do you disbelieve all reports of atrocities reportedly committed by Gadaffi? Or just this particular one because of who reported it? Whether this specific story is true or not is irrelevant. He was an abhorrent man and didn't deserve a dignified end.

Holy ****, hell has frozen over. I agree with you. The "arab spring" was certainly covertly orchestrated. I dont think they woukd risk being as hands on as eddie stated (in actually committing some of the killing) but they certainly manipulated the to and fro of the struggles from the shadows. I have my own beliefs as to why.
