Bought tickets for these today...been a few years since we last saw them

Not great.

 

Great gig last night at McCuhills in Glasgow - first time in this venue, holds 120 so nice and intimate. Jnr and co were really good, but are now on a rest from playing planning some writing sessions and recording ready for early next year.

Other support act were really good too...Bandit Country, also from Glasgow

 

Egyptian Blue were great too, Jnr said they were really nice guys too which is always good to hear cos some of the bands he's supported have been quite knobbish

 

@Steelmonkey Looking at getting tickets for Sea Power at Brum town hall next feb.

Are they good live?

 

Been a few years since I last saw them (before they dropped the British from their name). Seen them a few times and they are great live....hope they still have the big polar bear and spaceman join them on stage!

Nothing as far as I was concerned...but some ultra woke idiots (probably their label) saw links to British colonialism and the slave trade - WTF - so they dropped it. If you listened to any of their stuff you'd know that that couldn't be further from the truth...

 

He must be raging inside that they only mention tracks from A Grand Don't Come For Free which is nearly 20 years old...as great an album as it is, it's just a fraction of the work he's released.

Need to watch the film once it's out

That’s not a half bad album Steels.
Good listen and vocals remind me a bit of Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine. Well produced album - liking the sound and mix.

 

I've been listening to them for about four years, so it's nice to see they finally got an album out after some strong EPs - worth a delve through their back catalogue. Had tickets to see them pre-covid supporting Murder Capital but the dates then clashed with a gig my son was headlining so couldn't make it so good that I finally got to see them. Like their sound a lot.

Jnr just been booked to support these guys in January at King Tuts off the back of Saturdays gig...

 

Clearly not scanned all 1635 pages but any love for Band of Horses? Stuck in a groove listening to The Slow Cruel Hands of Time.
