Anyone noticed hat over the years especially the last 10-20 we have gifted so many goals through errors and serious blunders , but nobody ever seems to do the same for us . Or we gift last minute or late goals and v early ones both screwing us - maybe everyone does it, but it doesn’t seem that way !

Didn't we score against Birmingham from a gift?

    Connolly's goal against Sheff Weds?

    Traore's goal against Millwall?

My earlier post explained why I read the match day thread. As a reminder to never ever post on it.
    Your reply confirms my decision.

Don't read it???? Pah. It's the best money for value handbags on the internet.

I’ve been done! based on those don’t see why we’re panicking over our occasional gifts
But the late Sunderland equaliser when we went down and they stayed up hurts , the Glennon or Myhill eff up at Boro when they went up and our goalie completely mis- kicked or missed the ball , our non marking short corners over the years ,
My point is it never Seems like others do it as often as we do when I watch the efl highlights

Given you've had to go back to Myhill for an example suggests it's not quite as often as you feel.

Yes it's swings and roundabouts Plymouth did exactly the same at the weekend conceding playing out from the back .

I was always told the difference between professionals and amateurs is pros make less mistakes
And a manager is there to eradicate mistakes as much as possible

hence the old days it was row z

    yea things have changed now
    Better pitches better training methods
    Better fitness etc

but it’s still suicidal at times doing it in front of your own goal
This does not mean I want a Wimbledon team lumping every ball up to the big centre forward

yes I understand it draws teams out and we can get through them

    the oppo also know this

unfortunately even watching Man City at times who are masters at it, I find it ****ing boring

I was always told by coaches/managers that doing something once is a mistake, twice is questionable but anything over that and it's become a habit and that's when things become a problem

Bit early to be drinking isn't it?

The advice for people to skip over threads that don't interest them, relates to off-topic threads that some may not be interested in. That clearly doesn't apply to threads about Hull City, which will appeal to everyone on here, as that's obviously the reason they're here.

I understand that. I can get it’s not everyone’s cup of tea as football has been shifting this way the last 10 years or so and it’s not bleeding into the lower leagues.

think ultimately regardless of styles or mistakes within those styles is that the players are bought in. Despite making the mistake they stuck to the game plan and got a goal out of it.

Think it can be said they got stuck in the second half after a good spell once they went 2-1 down. If we had some better options from the bench it may have been a different game.

Bit like how a pass-back should always be to the outside of the goal posts, just in case...

On the Birmingham one, it came from a long kick up field from the keeper, which Alfie Jones headed back and the mistake happened. If they had played out from the back like we do, then maybe they wouldn't have conceded. Just saying...

if you make a mistake around your own penalty area it can lead to conceding a goal more often than other parts of the pitch

    Yep exactly
Mind you with that Man City goalie his passing ability is better than most outfield players
