Im not yet 50, and have a face that most normal people would have if we were Rooney and a grandma's punani was bearing down on us
So Leeds win. Can't help but think that was the result we, and the league, needed last night. Tough trip to Boro for Leicester next week. Fail to win and the cracks might start showing.
Leicester are gone. They'll win the league so not sure why that result benefits us. Saints, Leeds and Ipswich will likely fight for 2nd.
I'm not letting Leicester win it that easily. Before yesterday I'd have said it was 99% likely they get autos. After last night, it's about 95%. One more loss and it would go down to 90%. Speak to their fans and they say their last three performances have been very uninspiring, and without the likes of Ndidi, their midfield isn't all that. Dewsbury-Hall and in particular Casadei are apparently not the players they were half a dozen games ago. Ihaenacho has a 'lazy attitude', and Vardy is not the player he once was. @Shandy_top_89 No mention of Ipswich? They could go above Leicester if they win their games in hand.
Of the two Ipswich are more likely to drop points long term imo, but either way I don’t see both of them dropping enough to be caught and we will be competing with Leeds for that spot should it appear. Happy to be proven wrong, I just don’t see it at this stage.
There’s still a hell of a lot of games. Let’s see. Hope we’ve found our groove. Stewart and Stephen’s return is a bonus.
Agreed. Don Goodman on commentary for Sky kept on saying that a Leeds win was the result which the rest of the Championship needed. But I'm with you - it's just resulted in Leeds getting a bonus three points, because Leicester are getting promoted regardless of last night. I'd have much preferred they took those three points with them.
Blackburn killing Norwich so far. They really are in awful form. Szmodics this season is very much my pick of "Most impressive Championship player who I knew nothing about before this season". Impresses me regularly.
Was at the game, Norwich were dreadful. They have been for some time now. All their early season promise has vanished with injuries to Barnes and Sargent, but that doesn't excuse their lack of direction, urgency, basic communication amongst players... They do appear to have reverted back to how they ended last season, which was dire.
