You are such a winner 'Zero Meaning' ... I'm in awe of your magnificence ... and relevance ... what dance would you like? ... an American Smooth would seem apt ... although I doubt your intelligence gets the inference...
This is why I’m staying out of it bro Welshie chats like he knows a thing or two about military strategy I think he’s probably played Battleships online a few times max that’s it
The expertise of most of us on here probably extends to coding an excel spreadsheet formula and making a cup of tea with just the right amount of milk. And yet apparently overnight a number of posters became Carl von Clausewitz.
Just a random picture. Thoughts. The madness that is war, yet a child in war probably wouldn't have the crayons to do this, most likely done from images seen while safely at home and played out in a young mind from images broadcast... please log in to view this image
The only thing that's ultimately going to solve this is a two state solution. (not withstanding the complex issues that go with, which has been discussed) Time and again Netanhayu and Hamas have scuppered that from happening, but I noticed now that Haniyeh has said that Hamas and Israel should negotiate “We are ready for political negotiations for a two-state solution with Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine,” Haniyeh said during his address, adding a caveat that the process can only begin on condition of a ceasefire and the opening of humanitarian corridors to bring more aid into Gaza. Maybe Haniyeh has changed his tune because Hamas are getting pummelled into obliteration, but Israel won't achieve a lasting peace through bombs, because the next incarnation of Hamas will emerge if they are destroyed. And maybe, that was Hamas' intention all along, to get to a point where the only resolution to all of this was negotiations. The attacks on 7th Oct were heinous and there's no justification for them, but the retaliation has been utterly deplorable, the scale of the loss of innocent lives is quite frankly abhorrent and I do not agree with your comment that there is no difference between 1 and 7000 deaths. 1 death is a tragedy, 7000 is a massacre, and it needs to be recognised as such. So to answer your question, how should Israel respond. They should get around the table and negotiate. They haven't up until now because their compromises are far greater than Palestinian ones, but there is no 'military strategy' that will solve this. There will be some on here who will say 'It will never happen', but the same was said about the IRA, ANC etc and we all know that there IS the scope within the Palestine/Israel equation to begin that process, as the Oslo Accords showed us.
what planet are you from!! No Govt in the world would have thought after the Hamas attack "our response will be get round the table and negotiate"
I know they don't, that's why the endless cycle of violence continues So my question to that would be, what military solution will solve this issue ?
This would be Pinkie’s war after a thousand of his people had been massacred. ‘Got you back, ner, ner’
The question CK asked what your immediate response would have been to the massacre and your answer would probably lead to you being strung up by the mob Mussolini style
Very true ... but very few Govmts would also authorise 48 strikes on UN refugee camps either ... now about that proportional response thingy...
I don’t thinking anyone here admires Hamas tbh. I haven’t seen anyone describe them as noble or heroic. They’re a terrorist organisation, the question for Israel is whether fighting terror with terror is going to solve anything. Do you think that if a U.K. government had responded to IRA atrocities by levelling East Belfast, the ‘troubles’ would have been over sooner? Bit of a moot point of course, because the Yanks would never have allowed that. One has to wonder how much unequivocal support the US will continue to extend to Israel in the current conflict; Anthony Blinken appears to be hinting that there may be limits on the number of civilian casualties in Gaza they’ll turn a blind eye to. The best hope for neutralising Hamas btw, may be through the Iranian people removing their own deeply unpopular government; it’s never good when fundamentalists of any stripe are in power.
