I didn't watch any of it, but at a guess I suspect people keep them in so they can give them the worst tasks possible, and only when it gets down to the final three, do they then vote them out. The only problem you get is if they don't mind snakes, spiders, kangaroo anus and all that shhite, they turn it into a positive because they become a character of fun, which changes a negative to a positive that completely backfires on its audience.
