Fair comment . Unfortunately modern football seems to be more about keeping it safe and possession stats now . Because a few top teams do it everyone thinks they can too .
In my best Max Boyce: I know, cos I was there! Train back to Ilkley cancelled, stuck in Leeds for ages last night. And a 5.1/2 hour drive home: 1.1/2 hours from the other side of Ilkley to the M1 outside of Leeds alone, today!!
Hoedt: “I think we could have moved the ball quicker from in behind” BB: "I think we could have moved the ball in the correct direction too - forwards instead of backwards & sideways" https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...its-watford-didnt-create-anything-meaningful/
If ever there was a misleading headline - "Championship team of the week dominated by Bristol City, QPR, Watford and Blackburn" I didn't think any of ours deserved to be in it, but Sierralta is included, with, it has to be said, the lowest score. Admittedly he had a reasonable game - but Team of the Week? I think not. https://www.bristolworld.com/sport/...y-qpr-watford-blackburn-rovers-4398564?page=1
I noticed that many times we attempted a forward pass that was easily cut out. Just too slow, and the player due to receive it was facing the wrong way. A packed defence in the middle, and the way forward is down the wings. We just don't have wingers. The ones who are asked to play out there just want to cut in to the already packed area in front of goal.
Sema seems to like taking the ball right to the by-line, but not Martins - he seems to be cutting in and looking for an opportunity to shoot. Nothing wrong with that though, not many others are keen on shooting.
