His decision making is poor. Constantly playing square pegs in round holes. His timing of substitutions and then choice of substitutions have been dire for the past couple of games. I have no problems with the style of play but let’s be clear, there are lots of other managers who can play the same way and would get a better tune out of this squad.
Except few if any other managers would be so stubborn and naive about how we play. With him we miss xperience, nous, getting best out of what you've got. I'm certain he'll look back in future years when he's gained experience as a manager and think what the hell was I thinking.
I think his hands were pretty much tied today by the sounds of it. We missed Philogene and Lokilo. If he'd started Allahyar left and Christie right instead of two of the central players we had in wide positions it would have been fairly brave and may not have worked out. We'd certainly have stretched them more, but your gambling runners into space over players with more quality on the ball.
Ally over Tufan (seems) much of a muchness in terms of rustiness and ability, so I'm sure if he'd started Ally and he'd struggled people would have criticised his team selection going Ally over Tufan.
"I think in general we knew that today we would play a very difficult game that would be a high test for the team because we knew that the players of one team that is making one of the best football in terms of attacking style in the league. Maybe one of the few chances they did get, was the goal." Seems as though Corberan, like many other managers, would disagree with your view on Rosenior.
Goals scored would suggest different. That's the point of the game .... ooh, and not conceding, especially stupid avoidable goals.
Tufan was awful all game. I’m assuming he got bumped up with Lokilo out as twine would’ve gone up front.
Definitely not ( in my eyes anyway ) I think yesterday was a learning curve in the same way Ipswich was, Ipswich showed Rosie he needed to take the rains off more and give more freedom, play higher tempo and quicker transitions. Yesterday for me showed that we are heavily reliant on proper wingers for Rosie's system to work and it can work very well if we have said wingers. Yesterday we didn't and we still tried to play in exactly the same system putting square pegs in round holes. It showed us and hopefully Rosie that we need some flexibility on his system and a plan B for when we don't have the availability of certain players. As much as we all hope we have all players available all the time, it's just not going to happen. Good teams and good managers know when to change etc and how to set up with the players they have available. Yesterday's result as frustrating as it is, hopefully is something that LR learns from and the improves performance of twine helps him kick on
Agree with this. We didn't have anyone in the squad yesterday be it a winger on midfielder to pick up the ball after a good passing spell and drive. We need to adapt to it and get some more bodies in that will help
When he took over we were relegation fodder, we're now 9th a couple of points off the play offs. He's managed to get rid of a fair chunk of deadwood and seems, like all city managers, to be plagued by injuries.
That's what I meant when I said it'd be fairly brave. Tufan has so much more quality about him, but he's been out for a while. Allahyar would be a better option for running the channels and giving us an outlet, but then there's little end product in comparison.
Surely Rosenior didn't need yesterday to learn such basics, or is he really that naive and inexperienced?!? More like stubborn, inflexible, misguided, too fixated on his 'unique' way?
I'm going to get you a thesaurus for Christmas, surely the 'n' 'a' 'i' 'v' and 'e' keys are worn out on your keyboard by now.
With calling LR naive you certainly do. Sorry for having the temerity to apply some levity. Football discussions are very serious business.
