Win is a win, after the problems this week grateful for it, 10th place, 4pts off play offs, 3points and a good result for Nige, looking forward to the Lansdowns giving us a positive week ahead., well done all concerned.
After the last week it was never going to be easy, 3 points gained is all the matters, it was never going to be flowing football
I posted somewhere that this weeks fixtures were especially good... in BCFC's favour... turned out better than thought! we gained 2 pts over all the teams from 7th to 24th and 2 pts on the top 2! That means only 4 other teams stayed with our march to the top this week!
Its a great squad, theres been significant investment this season, promotion is the aim and fans were singing songs for Lansdown.
We DO have some decent players, but lack depth - particularly in goal and defence. We also could do with a number 9. We’ve had NO investment this season after releasing our best player - for a record fee. The fans were singing ‘Nigel Pearson’s Red & White Army’ I heard no Lansdown songs - which is probably a good thing. The fans haven’t started singing them yet.
The investment was c£5m this season on new players. I’m this financial climate, it’s not bad. Although a lot less than a previous era, but there was more money at this level then, so not comparable, although many try to… I don’t think SL trusted Pearsons signings, so wouldn’t release more funds. We will see in Jan
There are those who have been concerned about lack of penalties and decisions for BCFC, but I think City got one there. I would be disappointed if that was a City player getting a red for that.
Pen and yellow for me. As he gave a free kick red was correct. He had a go outside the box, Knight rode the challenge so he did it again, the second was inside the box. As he rode the first and went down on the second for me it’s a pen.
