As both Beauport and Monbeg Genius both ran at Ascot yesterday it seems ridiculous that both are still engaged in the Colin Parker Memorial Chase. Surely both will be withdrawn this morning and the market will have a very different look? Edit: As I write this, Beauport is scratched. Jonjo must be having a lie in.
Martinstown runs in the 2.25 @ Curragh today and can be backed at 8/1 currently. I think this horse has more in him than shown so far and I'll take the chance at that price today that he will go close. San Aer looks a worthy fave after a snug enough win only last Monday but he will need to pull out further improvement to win here again.
Carlise 13,20 Brandy McQueen 11/4 15,40 Wasdell Dundalk 8/1 e/w WH and bet365 four places, 15/2 others Curragh 15,00 Falcon Eight 7/2 Cork 15,50 Tomjackwilliam 12/1 e/w five places, 11/1 sky six places
Good to see Kenny Alexandar putting a young horse with a Scottish trainer - Whistle Stop Tour goes in the opener at Carlisle for Lucinda Russell and is not unfancied against the Jonjo / JP hotpot. 5/2 seems reasonable to me.
Lingfield 15.55 This looks more like a donkey race and at this level there is no telling what is going on (prize money is so low that more money can be made betting on the race. Not that I'm suggesting it's crooked, what? me?) Nevertheless, on form alone, there might not be much between Intoxicata (9/4 fav) and Ajrad (6/1), both C&D winners. Ajrad covered the 7f 5secs faster than Intoxicata, going way and carrying 8lb more than was Intoxicata when she won. Today, Intoxicata carries 6lb more this time whilst Ajrad carries just 1lb more. On that basis it would appear that, if they both reproduced the same form as they did on their last victory here, Ajrad has 7lb and half a second in hand over the fav. The only thing that swings me towards the fav is that she won lto over the distance, going away, in a very respectable time and therefore looks the "in form" horse So my foolish bet would be a small win bet on Intoxicata at 9/4. No point hedging as it is just as likely something unexpected will happen
That's the race I'm doing, Ron, so you have a very good chance of success! However, here goes: In the finalé at Lingfield (15:55), a Class-6 Handicap over 7f on the Polytrack surface, the Camacho gelding, Doves Of Peace, should run well. Hector Crouch rides for the Michael Bell yard. 4/1 (PP/Unibet) best price at time of writing.
Well done your team. The better team by far and could have been more. Portsmouth flattered by the score. I just hope we don't get drawn against you in the next round
Utterly dissapointing. I may get to posting more regularly and I might be able afford 1 winner per 20 I put up.
