He's not micro analysing anything. He's lust looking for a binary answer to an open question and he ****ing knows it.
As I say, most other teams pass the ball out of defence quickly and create goalscoring chances Hull City are only ahead of Stoke in the top half of the table for goals scored you think that ponderously passing the ball around at the back is superior
Wrong again. Bristol City as well. (if you're going to be pedantic with me I'm going to be pedantic with you)
I think you just defeated your own argument about playing out being dangerous. If we're so **** at scoring then something has us in 9th But I see you've shifted your approach now you've made yourself look silly.
My overriding takeaway from that game is that yet again, our opponents were so much more clinical than we ever are. We dominated large spells, but when they got a chance they punished us. We make a few mistakes and they score three. We almost never score three ourselves no matter how much we dominate or how many chances we get. We're looking at that first goal as a gift from Seri (and it is a howler of course) but honestly, would we have finished that off if the shoe was on the other foot? I'm not convinced any of our attackers would have turned and buried it in two touches like Wallace did. And once again that is the key thing other sides do that we don't. This is worth countless points.
One throw out to Coyle or Morton instead of including Seri and Jones first which is an example of irrelevant passes fraught with risk rarely do we see our players in a position to pass to each other in the attacking third that's because we let our opponents get into their desired defensive formation
Right Were talking about individual quality there. And (whisper it quietly) we have about the 8th best squad in the league and no one individual in our starting lineup is worth what they could bring from the bench.
What happens then if Coyle got pressed after the ball was thrown to him and we lose possession? Does it not count because the original pass by Allsop had meaning?
Delap scored a goal against Birmingham but that's where the similarities end. Wallace scored with his back to goal within two touches. Perfect Cruyff turn to trap it and set himself up for a shot in one touch and then a perfect finish to give Allsopp no chance. If he'd not been so efficient we'd probably have recovered. I love Delap but in that scenario I think he'd have dallied and had his shot blocked.
I think the level of 'fraugtness' is posted in your own stats. 3 goals that matter in a fu king year.
Delap latched onto a back pass, took one touch around the keeper, and slotted at a tight angle into the bottom corner. Clinical when presented with the opportunity. Obviously hypothetical until he's presented with an identical chance, but think you're being more than a little harsh.
You seem to have an incredibly limited understanding of the game of football. If we could pass direct to Coyle and him have as much space and time as he does after taking the first few attackers out of the equation by beating their press then we obviously would. The point is that players except for those furthest from goal are marked and so passing to them is impossible until the opposition has been drawn out sufficiently to create space for players further up the pitch. You talk about letting them get back into their desired shape but that is exactly the thing we prevent by passing the ball in the way that we do, we pull them out of their shape to create the opportunity to pass to players in space further up the pitch than we'd otherwise be able to.
only 4 teams have lost less than us - that is the big difference 10 teams have scored more than us and 10 teams have conceded less than us how have I made myself look silly? messing around at the back is dangerous do you disagree?
In the context you are positioning it, then yes. You've defeated your own argument. 3 ****ing goals from mistakes in a year mate.
so why is it that our players seem at a loss to create chances? I'm not saying we never create chances but we create less chances than most other teams we play against why is it that our opponents seem to maintain their shape when we have the ball?
You really do selectively read posts dont you? The reason we struggle is because once we have broken the press we dont advance the ball quick enough. We have seen a lot more success in recent games thanks to Philogene's dribbling ability allowing us to advance the ball quicker and he creates space himself.
