The Bednarek-THB pairing is now below a goal/game against, I believe: 6 goals surrendered in 7 matches. A slight contrast to every other pairing, which have collectively shipped 19 goals in 8 matches. Would be frankly insane to give Stephens a look in when he returns. That partnership has to continue.
With all the midweek games in the Championship we will need to rotate anyway. Stephens will get plenty of game time to win his spot back.
KWP is being allowed to play so far forward this season, that I wouldn't at be surprised if we move to a more permanent back three, with Stephens joining both of them. Maybe a little unfair on Bree, but ultimately Stephens is our captain.
Really needed that after Leicester and Ipswich dropped points but Leeds won. Keeps us with Leeds as the chasing pack. Very tough game uo next. WBA on top form at the moment.
Yeah, it'll come in mid/late Dec, I'm sure. I just wouldn't rush him back into the lineup because he's the captain, because right now we actually have solidity in central defense for the first time in. Uh. Several years?
I wouldn't; even though Martin has had success with it in the past, we've finally started looking relatively comfortable on both ends in this setup. An option if results fall off, but not the time to start experimenting, IMO.
We always need it, but we NEEDED that today with the results this week. Keeping up with Leeds and two points gained against Ipswich. Clean sheet 2 of the season.
Love Che screaming for a pass, and then transitioning his angry "why didn't you pass it" hands straight into a celebration.
Funny thing, I watched the rerun of the Bournemouth v Liverpool 4-3 game the other night and it was Fraser who turned that game round. Astute move for us me thinks!!
