the stats from that season dont really lie. imo we bought him as a different option to control games and not be so functional all the time. we still had all the other options and captain no 6 and windypops. we've also brought through the two younger players over the time I'd contend that as of today gravenberch has been bought as a similar option for good price late in the window.
Thiago is surely around the 5/6th choice for midfield now. I'd say he was yesterday's choice, but I'm not sure he was ever good enough to be today's choice. How well the midfield is performing now, shows that he was never a good enough option. God forbid we have to play the tug boat now.
he's gone from 3rd/4th choice to 7th? maybe 6th over endo? Szoboszlai macallister gravenberch Jones I don't think anyone will dispute that where klopp is at now. I'd guess Elliott next. then it's anyones guess with endo and thiago and bajcetic or even the newer kids.
You guys will argue anything. Not even sure there are that many ways of saying "Man Utd are ****e" tbh
I think it's pretty good news as its not just crimson who will cut and run. if they are negotiating they want something like some oreisoner or something and the government can secure this

man utd spoilsport and all round ****head manager has now crossed rashford who has made a faux apology. apparently rashford has a preplanned birthday party on the day of the city game so ten haag is apparently disgusted after losing 0-3 that anyone would dare continue on. so despite it being personal time and despite it not interfering with training the next day etc he has still dressed down the player and demanded an apology. I am sure rashford said, sure boss sorry, it will never happen again ON YOUR WATCH.
...until next year. I expect players to be down after an abject performance, but it was his birthday, ffs. What did he expect him to do - cancel it all and shuffle off into a dark corner with his head in his hands? It would be different if he'd got palatic and turned up next day still half-cut, but if it didn't affect him I don't know why it's an issue.
It’s about the optics. You played **** and then seen out in a nightclub til 2-3am. How would Klopp react if say Trent had played dreadful, then seen going out to a nightclub to the early hours of the morning when you have training that same morning?
Is this a real phrase now? No wonder I feel old, optics is the scientific study of electromagnetic radiation in my book. I'd like to think Klopp would handle it better. Perhaps tell him to enjoy himself, don't overdo it, and maybe even let him come in late. It's one day a year, and it's his birthday. Good man management is about knowing the right time for an avuncular hand on the shoulder and when it's time for a kick up the arse. Ten Hag is a bigger problem at Utd than Rashford, imo.
If utd win its no issue. If utd lose its an issue. That's not management. That's petty and that exactly what he looks like. If rashford stands with his hands on his hips like he did for ogs and doesn't work back then either ten haag drops another player or he plays with 8 defending at best That's where they are at now. He can t play when he fells like it and abdicate the rest now
I’m sure Klopp would have handled it better. Rashford isn’t 18, he’s 26, so why would he think it was right to stay out until the early hours before training, even if he turned up in time. Ten Haag has said he was aware of it , which is not the same as saying Rashford saying he told him about it before hand and as Saint said Ten Haag going please be responsible as we have training etc.
You are missing the point. Lfc fans on a forum shouldn't know what's going on behind the scenes at utd. Ten haag shouldn't be airing this stuff in public. Iits undermining any sort of authority he wants not building it.
Obviously I'm on the outside and don't know the full story, but ten Hag comes across as a strict disciplinarian without any other dimension to his style. I don't think that works with everyone, and it certainly isn't working at Utd atm - they're playing way below their potential. If a manager can't get the best tune out of what he has available, then he's doing it wrong.
