I always thought it was Oldham (Boundary Park). I recall driving there in my first ever car, an old clapped out Capri and only just making it up the hill from Huddersfield on the M62....
Lost 3-1.... Can't recall City's goal scorer. TBH they had a decent side, managed by Joe Royle. Seemed to recall Quinn got a couple for them.
But you're right its the The Hawthorns.

I heard they're called the Baggies because in the old days they had a scoreboard and the half time scores were put up by two blokes who carried the numbers in two big bags....hence the Baggies.

Oldham is second highest behind WBA not much in it though. Never thought about it we are 3rd lowest so will be one of the first to be affected by rising sea levels in the future.

The West Brom fan I worked with years ago said their nickname came from the old days when they used to put the money from the turnstiles in bags and walk round the pitch with them to go down the tunnel to the office for them to be counted. They were greeted with shouts of “Here come the baggies!”. Have read that since with some other variations but it seems as good a reason as any.

Traore was excellent last week and IMO of late... Lokilo deserves the chance to play from the off too, I think there's player in there.

One game I remember well and being disappointed a player was out injured was 1965 against Forest in the FA cup. It was announced just before kick off, Houghton was out and Terry Heath was taking his place. Disappointed all around until Heath scored both goals in the 2-0 win.

Disappointing to hear Jaden is out, but in one way he is still very young, so a game out might not be a bad thing in the long run. Yes, he is a big miss, but we do have a strong squad, Sinik or Vaughan might get a chance.

From the WBA forum. One of the funniest things about the “mauled” chant is that opposing fans just don’t get it. We know it’s camp, that’s the point, it makes getting beat even worse.

“It's "mauled" not "mulled"... with hand gestures. It has to be one of the most cringey chants in football...along with a certain " all go down together".

Haven't got a problem with the mauled by the tigers chant or accompanying claw gestures. I honestly don’t think they've got the foggiest idea just how camp they look when they do it. It would be like getting angry at Frank Spencer

A good deal of them fail to see it is a chant to wind up the opposing fans up,

Going to be close, unlike last season!
Is Morton back? ..If yes, I'd go with
    Allsopp
    Vinagre, McLoughlin, Jones, Greaves
    Coyle, Seri, Morton, Lokilo
    Twine
    Delap

If we have aspirations of being one of the top teams this term and finish at least in the top 6, these are the games we must get something from, win would be nice but a point, not the end of the world.

Vinagre right-back and Coyle right-wing is interesting.

You realise that can work both ways don't you?

Maybe 'the twat' wants to avoid giving them a boost an hour before kickoff when the team sheet comes out and our most in form forward isn't on it?

Mainly thinking about stopping their wide player Wallace's influence on the game. Along with Townshend coming down their left. I think Swift is out injured, which is no bad thing.

Why would we play Vinagre on the right over Christie?

I was listening to an old podcast episode of ours the other night - because it was in the direct fallout of the Dai Yongge takeover falling through and I was curious to see how we reacted to it - and was given a bit of a flashback to how we started that season, as it was right after our draw with Burnley before we got battered by Arsenal. What a wild start to that season we had!

Went a few seasons ago to West brom, got beat...

It's when Marshall refused to dive for any shot and got subbed at half time. People rated him, I thought he was ****.
