Arrived in Gatwick an hour ago. Got my ticket for thr Cup match Sunday (not sold out yet!) So all set. No offence to Cray, but this is a fairly unattractive tie for us. Pretty likely we'll rest players so I may get to see Charlie Kirk in the flesh. A big win would be meaningless, given the gulf in leagues between us and we gradually filter through levels of embarrassment if we don't rack up a good win. But .....I haven't been to the Valley gor a bit and I'm here for work, so this is the tie I get to see. Anyone else going?
Sorry, Ken, I'd love to meet up again, but it's the telly for me. I hope it's a reasonably strong team, although with Alfie and Dobbo on 4 yellows I wouldn't want to risk them. I'd hope for a strong bench though, just in case..... We are a rubbish cup team after all. Paper Mills have sold 3,000 tickets, so most of the noise will come from the Jimmy Seed stand.
My visits often come in early November so I was here when we beat Truro, whose fans outsang us from start to finish. Sunday will almost certainly be the same!
Best of luck to Cray Valley Paper Mills FC - formed 104 years ago https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cray_Valley_Paper_Mills_F.C. They've done well to get this far in the FA Cup (I assume). I'm sure they'll give Appleton's XI something to think about.
11 changes Kevin Lisbie's son has scored 13 goals already this season for the Millers, including 7 in the FA Cup. I doubt we'll be keeping a clean sheet. Blimey, Cray have played Eight FA Cup games to make it to this tie tonight...
Yeah, Cray working hard to limit us and to be honest, very well disciplined. I'll avoid going over the top, but a couple of ours are looking very poor against non league opposition. Charlie Kirk amongst the dross.
Well played Cray Valley PM We were OK to start with, then lost it totally. Even the subs couldn't help really. So much dross in our squad. The Millers thoroughly deserve their replay. This is their night
