Like the bit when he says the list is not who they are looking for. So could be someone none of us have thought off, and possibly going Brighton route.
Full interview guys if you want to watch- when mentioning Frank Lampard he said fans are not getting what they were looking for- So either top drawer or another gamble we wait and see.
I may be in the minority, but I didn’t think he came across bad. Particularly noticed he mentioned not wanting to discuss as there was things in the decision that was breaking confidentiality of both parties.
Poor interview imo, the guy was answering the questions for him. JL did say we aren’t where we want to be ?, really?, the board, or SL denied the manager more players by denying funds from the sale of Scott, then blame the manager when results have been poor lately due to lack of numbers, who’s fault was that?, says they think the players took too long a break over the international break, based on who’s opinion?, Rennie is far more qualified to know than the Lansdown’s or BT, he’s well respected in the industry and has worked at a higher level than us for many years. I’m sure they are well intentioned, no one’s denying that, but they don’t have the expertise and refuse to listen to those that have, and don’t say BT has, he hasn’t the experience of NP or Rennie.
I'm sorry but everytime I see or hear this guy I think how thick, he must have something , his dad obviously thinks so, what it is I just don't know. Nige was possibly deconditioning his own players? Bristol City chairman feared players were 'at risk of deconditioning' under Nigel Pearson Bristol City fans are still smarting following the decision to sack Nigel Pearson and the club have tried to reclaim the narrative https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-chairman-nigel-pearson-8881536
I still maintain the problem goes back to the sale of Scott, and no money from the sale used to bring in players, instead being used as a “nest egg” that was a board decision. It was plain to see we were short of numbers. They should have taken ownership for that decision, not try to blame others. It’s not hindsight either, myself, and pretty much the rest of the fan base pointed it out at the time. The board were the only ones that couldn’t see it.
In fairness mate, he answered the funds by saying they already spent it before clubs knew we had money, and if AS sale didn’t go through it would be a lot worse. Like it or not we was close to points deduction with FFP. What was also said that with the funds allows to spend in January or next window at least. He never said he wasn’t more qualified, he even said he leaves football decisions to others. Like a few have mentioned we are a bottom half of championship team. Still **** at home, not the greatest entertainment. Not had that imo since Cotts even when we was losing we looked good entertainment. People forget and say he’s thick, he’s this etc. But if it wasn’t that he was a fan like all of us, his dad would not have shown the slightest interest in us and we could be now like the blue few with them with the nice ground, training ground. At the end of the day JL is a city fan. Just a rich one. All the anger in the world is not going to turn the clock back. **** me as much as I liked Nige, at the end of the day he’s not a well man.
The last few games we’ve played with a scratch team, that’s a direct result of not having a big enough squad, that’s a decision the board made, against NPs wishes. Until then we were just outside the playoffs, 8th wasn’t it?, I don’t get this we aren’t where we should be argument. We’ve now got two winnable games and the cavalry coming back. It’s bullshit mate. The decision had been made and we move on, but they must think we are thick if they think we’ll fall for their reason for getting rid of Nige. He ruffled their feathers.
**** me mate, Nige said in the beginning he wants to work with a smaller squad, and ours was too big. Speaking to a friend who’s a Cardiff fan. Said he told his son when Nige gave the after match interview “that’s a manager that wants out”. So yes he may have ruffled a few feathers but it’s not new to him to do that is it. It was also said in that interview he wants to protect the confidential of both parties in that last meeting. Yes there could be more to it than we all know.
What like there was at Ipswich when you said the fans are going to protest not getting a new contract. Tell me how that went?
apart from the boys in the singing corner at the start it was piss poor. Nige was not sacked then he is now unfortunately.
He also made it clear when Scott was sold he wanted to use some money to increase squad numbers, there’s a small squad and a ridiculously small squad, I’m afraid ours is the latter. If it’s down to health issues I understand they can only say so much, but if you listen to and read the interview JL alluded to not being where we should be and to paraphrase giving players to long a break over the internal break. That’s bollocks,
I believe our 1st team squad is 27, it's not that small tbh. Yes it's stretched right now, but that is only for 1 or 2 games. Regarding the Scott sale, I think I recall reading somewhere that the c£5m Nige was give for new players in the summer was with the expectation that Scott would be sold, so he was given the money 'up front'?
SORRY ..... until you find and re read, if you have already read it , the comment that NP HAD A BUDGET , that was based on AS leaving, and if he didnt SL would pick up the tab of money spent /so therefore honoured .... then you will never understand that part of BCFC's history timeline!
They have 20 outfield players including TGH and Roberts and Benarous, who’ve got a handful of first team games between them, and Benarous has been injured since Jesus was a child. That’s 17 what I would call first teasers, which include Bell and Conway, who are both pretty much in their first full season. They have Max as a keeper, the others again have next to no first team experience, that’s tight.
