Yeah at 2-2 with 6 mins to go we ran to get the ball and carry on was we wanted a winner. Great spirit
Think those 3 seasons will always be the pinnacle of supporting Saints for me. The only thing that could potentially beat it I think is a cup but that's extremely unlikely and I'm not as invested as I was back then. Great times
I knew he was there on loan but didn't know the season. Just saw he got booked for the second pen while watching the highlights.
It was never a pen either. I was there and it was an awful refereeing decision - it had hit Hooiveld's arm! We were all stunned when the ref gave it for a second then went nuts!
The video shows just how good the much maligned Danny Fox was for us that season, he was involved in the move when the Lambert shot that hit the bar, played a great ball to put Morgan in behind the defense for the first goal and played the corner in for the second penalty.
It'll always be the Lawrie Mac era for me (probably because of my age), but the promotions and subsequent Poch and Ronald years come a close second.
Think this is the sort of game which will show how much spine, togetherness, and how far we have come. Gonna be a tough one. Will go with a draw or narrow win for us.
They've only beaten us twice in the last 20 games going back to 1985. Can't see a problem to be honest.
Hope you are right, but not sure it matters so much on the history. Id imagine they will be taking pop shots from anywhere on the pitch, I would if playing against Bazunu (although he has been far better than last season).
I never make predictions about Saints, they are unpredictable. I'm not doing much this morning, just felt the need for a chat.
