I’m not sure that’s accurate. I think any club that goes into administration have to pay their football creditors in full, it’s the other poor companies and the tax man who gets shafted, that’s why the inland revenue tried to challenge this in court.
The celebrations with Jimmy could just be the irony of both these players wanting to leave and enjoying Bantz at the expense of the fans? Cannot forget the times Jimmy wanted out and Bielsa tearing him a new one, same with Drameh who really has gone now and Jimmy wanted out when Marsch came in and again this summer with Gnonto packing up his flat in Harrogate. So let’s not think these 2 are full Leeds commitment let’s wait and see what happens next month.
Maybe that’s why the championship changes so much in the second half of the season, squads are finally settled for the season. Gnonto might go in January but I think Summerville is here at least till the end of the season.
Starting to get this strange feeling that we're going to go to Leicester on Friday and win. Also enjoying a nice bottle of Barolo tonight in case anyone is wondering about the good mood
They can only pay their football creditors first if they have any money! And they don't! They've got a £300m+ debt accrual - so far - & gawd knows how many other transfers still to pay for. And then there's the new stadium costs too. Do you really, really think we'd get paid? I don't. I really don't at all.
Eddie Howe probably best coach and England. We could have had him but of course that would never happen with our owners obsession with signing Johnny or Jesse nobodies to run the circus
Are you suggesting that we should have sacked Bielsa just after we finished 9th in the PL ? You do know when Newcastle appointed Howe don't you.
There was about a ten or twelve week overlap. It was clear early on in Bielsas last season that it would be last. My point is we should have been lining up someone of holes calibre instead of spending months watching the useless Marsch and giving him the gig. All about ambition and irrelevant now
We'd have had to sack Bielsa in October just to be in with a chance of appointing Howe so that was never going to happen. Same with Dyche last season who could have replaced the inept Marsche but again the stars didn't align and now Everton are reaping the benefits whilst we wallow in the Championship
Gnonto still has a great relationship with Summerville so that's not a surprise. The one thing he hasn't done is interact with the fans in the ground but he did do afterwards. Whether there is anything to read into that, only time will tell.
If they don’t pay their football creditors in full, which is what any new owner has to do to bring a club out of administration, the club loses its “golden share” so will effectively be expelled from the league. If what you say above happens the club would be liquidated.
I posted a few times on here that we all knew Bielsa would leave in a year or so and as Eddie had spent time watching him coach as well as going to Spain and Italy to watch some top coaches. I said we should bring Eddie Howe in to work under Bielsa and then take over when he goes. I even said he would probably come and work for nothing. Eddie would never have looked at Newcastle until he knew they were going to be taken over by big cash. He spent 2 seasons just watching football and coaches
On the front he looks a very amiable decent young fella, perhaps given poor advice by an avaricious agent. Now he's seen the light as such, perhaps he's more than a little embarrassed and after reading the online abuse, because of his age took it to heart and perhaps feels the majority haven't forgiven him and fears the backlash getting involved in the ground, hence why he interacted later, smaller numbers , felt more comfortable, feeling his way back slowly. This is just speculation on my part, giving a young man the benefit of doubt.
I think we forget he’s still a teenager, at 19 facing a few thousand fans who are willing to show some hatred, it must be pretty daunting
