He did state on more than one occasion pre press conference made a point to say he was happy with what he had to pick from…post press conference after defeat makes a point of being light..
I think he should have either spoke out or kept stum.. just my view

He’s hardly going to say before a game that he feels he’s short is he, what sort of optic is that going to give to the team he’s picked. Oh lads by the way you’re only playing because we’re short of quality players, but do your best anyway, May as well just give the opposition the points.

I don’t buy that argument, those players know the score. It’s a cop out.

You are so correct, Nige was restricted right from the start, first clear of the debt (£38.4m) reduce wage costs by smaller squad, then sell off young assets for high profit, then it was kiss my ass for money and sack, I won't mention comparisn with LJ but the Lansdowns got their fingers burnt and they won't make that mistake again.

He tells them like he tells us, here’s your opportunity to show what you got and to earn your place in the starting lineup.. it’s how the likes of how Pring, Conway, Bell, I could go on!! He always made a point of saying he was happy with his squad and the players chomping at the bit from the academy..

That doesn’t mean he’s happy with the number of number of academy players he has to use, some are ready and make the team on merit and that’s fine, some aren’t but are having to be used anyway, that isn’t fine.

Nige knew the job he was appointed for wiz..
I agree he did a decent job reducing wage bill etc, I didn’t want him gone, in fact I warmed to what he was doing with the club, building and using and giving opportunity to the young players from the academy..
It was wrong of the board to do what they did unless Nige felt he was unable to give it his full commitment because of his health issues with his back.. just my view..

I don’t think he would of used them unless he thought they were ready..
You may not agree but I still think the players that were still available were good enough to pick up more results than they did..
The Stoke game was a good example..

That's what Tinnion and JL said.
The vast majority of City fans (even Sky Sports) think they're talking bollocks.

But you and Supcon are entitled to your view.

The next manager will be the proof RP. If he comes in and gets this group playing good football, and gets results, and doesn’t fallout with everyone, then we will know it was down to Nige. If we continue with $hite performances and results, then we know it’s down to the Landsdowne’s lack of investment

Even when the injured players return, I still don’t think we’re much better than a half way up (or down) the league team

For me, that’s part of the problem, we should be, NP had enough money to buy better than he has, or coach the players better, that was the point of an experienced manger ‘with credentials’ after 2 failures with young inexperienced managers at this level. 2.5 years in, I wouldn’t say that Nige has done a good enough job given his experience and what he had available to him. Clearly the board agree. I don’t agree he should have been sacked, yet. But equally, it was obvious to me a while ago, Nige wasn’t the man to take us forward.

Consistency has been the issue throughout his reign. Sometimes it’s just as easy picking a team with a small squad than it is with a big one. My view is that although we have injuries, he’s still had the players available to have got better results.. Having said that I do question some of the players he’s brought in that stands out.. Sykes, James, knight and possibly Naismith are the exceptions.. the rest for me the jury’s out..
what frustrates me is we’ve either looked really really good controlling a game to switching off to then look bloody dreadful.. it’s happened so many times it’s cost us dearly. I would expect with the experience of manager we had, that would have got sorted.
And before drumming up the usual regarding funds etc, do we think it would have have been any different if Nige had an open cheque book? bearing in mind, he’s indicated many a time it’s not his way.
Please note, I thought it was as bad of a decision to sack him as you did..

There are always games like that, for balance we beat Coventry but didn’t deserve it, how many times over the years have we, and any team, plyayed well and lost or played badly and won.

Was that the same FA centre of excellence producing players that struggled in any major international tournaments??

Its an interesting proposition that that the Manager was forced to bring in Ryan Kent. Recently Lee Johnson remarks as Hibs boss.

"Ryan’s a really good kid. I love him as a player and I’d watched him a lot when I was manager at Oldham and then Barnsley. He’d been great at Oakwell the year before I got him to Bristol City. So I was really keen to get him. We were flying at the time and his signing was seen as a big boost for us.I was delighted to get him but it didn’t work as well as all of us would have hoped."

Ephraim primarily played for Bristol Inner City development centre in the Junior Premier League and for Bristol Central in the Avon Youth League two seasons ago.

That might be Lilleshall the centre of excellence producing players that went on to win the Ballon d'Or and League titles, and European cups at their clubs.
