I've answered this twice before directly to you and each time you've not replied and ignored it, then you're back on saying the same thing. I've given a real world response and I really can't be arsed to repeat myself for a third time. All I get from your posts is that you see things from a position very much aligned with Israel's needs or wants. I know the obstacles regarding Israel, I could start listing the real world obstacles for the Palestinians, things that are absolute red lines, but what would be the point? What do we do, all give up until Hamas lays down arms and the Israelis all feel safe enough to stop voting for every warmonger or ultranationalist fruitcake that becomes kingmaker? As for anyone making the first move - these prerequisite conditions to peace talks is precisely why this cycle of death and destruction continues. In fact I'd go as far as to say it's a deliberate ploy to ensure peace talks DON'T happen. The first step is a ceasefire on BOTH sides, and then everything follows from that. The people who have died cannot be brought back, but at least those who will be killed tomorrow can be saved. Or what, we continue with this nightmare and all it leads to is more of the same from both sides. 1405 ppl killed in Israel. Of those 29 are children, I don't know how many are injured. 240 hostages in Gaza, their families going through a living hell. 7703 ppl killed in Gaza. Of those 3527 children killed, not including the 954 listed as missing under the rubble. Another 6500 injured. 2.2 million held hostage in Gaza. Pregnant women dying in airstrikes. One who was 6 months pregnant blown to bits and her sister lying on the sidewalk screaming with uncontrollable grief at the camera. But not to worry there's still another 50,000 left to take out. A family in a car deliberately blown to bits by a tank as they were taking the road to southern Gaza. Have Israel not had enough revenge mate? Have you not had your pound of flesh?
Not until Hamas surrender, no. I do think the objective of showing Lebanon and Iran that Israel isn’t going to **** about has been achieved and they’ve rightly stayed out of it for the most part. But no, I don’t think anyone can say what is adequate retribution for Oct 7th. If Hamas don’t want to surrender as they almost certainly never will then it will have to go on.
Sounds like a plan. Retribution is a door that swings both ways. We'll wait for the sign above the door to change from Hamas to something else then.
