Possibly they offered it to Warnock until the end of the season, and no matter what happened they wouldn't be retaining him. He probably wanted a longer contract and told them to stick it up their League 1 arses !

I don't reckon Warnock will even come back into football now. His days are done and well done to him. This seems like a totally different direction compared to our last 2 appointments and it's bloody refreshing.

Horses for courses pal, hope it works out but I seriously think we are so bad only Warnock and his experience of getting teams out the **** could've saved us ! Hoping I'm wrong

What about this bloke with Warnock as mentor/advisor/ championship induction for this season?

We probably can’t afford it though….

Me and the lad have been discussing replacements for a while now as we knew that Ainsworths football, or lack of it, wasn't taking us anywhere but down. We both agreed that a young, modern coach with experience abroad would bring a style of football more pleasing on the eye. Football is evolving every season and we have been crying out for a modern coach to embrace this evolution in the game. Hopefully this guy can deliver.

    From m
From medieval football to modern football. What's not to like. A very positive appointment if it comes off and the most ambition the club will have shown in years.

My only worry is that he'd take over with us 4 points from safety already.
It could take too long for his methods to work.

Quite like the sound of this Cifuentes but just worried that a foreign coach who has no experience of football in this country will take a few seasons to bed in with his ideas. We dont have a few seasons.

Can but wait and see though, pretty sure he'd at least get us playing more competitive and entertaining football than the base, neanderthal slop we've had under Ainsworth.

Yes I wouldn't disagree with that at all Col.
The players have obviously not bought into Crichley or Ainsworths styles and who could blame them. Maybe, hopefully they are crying out for somebody who knows how the modern game works, has good quality coaching sessions with in-depth tactics. We have plenty of games left to rescue this season, we didn't have enough left to rescue it under Ainsworth.

Now there’s a turn up for the books. Thought Warnock was the right man for the circumstances we find ourselves in.

Just had a look on Twatter. QPR supporters are currently watching their game (winning 2-0 at home) and ****ing like he's the next Terry Venables.
"He got a Swedish team into Europe!" was funny. Three or four get into Europe every year, but only Malmö ever get very far.
Hammarby is a stockholm team with the biggest and best support. Hammarby always play open, attacking football, that's why they have only ever won the league once. Their supporters have no qualms with AIK (most boring team in the world) having about 16 titles, or Djurgården (Millwall type club) with 14.
I'll believe it when it happens, but still expecting Colin.

He took over Sandefjord in 2019 when they had 5 points from 12 games - worse than us! - and they only lost 6 of the next 18 games. Not enough to keep them up but he got them promoted the next year, and whatever he did worked pretty fast. Plus he’s used to a challenge. Since then he’s been poached twice, a popular lad.

Mind you, our squad shows all the signs of being irredeemable bolshie ****wits.

My main worry is that this is all internet bullshit.

He turned us down because we couldn't afford what he wanted to be paid a year ago with no transfer budget.. so what's changed? How much has Ruben lobbed in to renaming the stadium so he can get us out of the ****?

According to someone on Twatter, Marti (can't spell his surname) was talking to Hoos at half time in Hammarby's game. Wtf!

Oh we managed to confuse teams by playing RBs at LB, LBs at RB, having complete.morons getting themselves sent off, geriatrics as wing-backs and putting our creative players on the pitch for 120 seconds at the end of a game when 4-0 down. At least, I was confused watching it all <yikes>
