Watched the full 90 mins last night and it often was'nt clear just what that ref was doing, baffled a lot of people including the commentators so great news if it is confirmed .
Agree marra, we weren’t poor, we were the better side and did enough to win the game without going through the gears, what more can you ask for
Likewise watched the full 90 yesterday. I thought we were excellent, Rusyn worked his socks off, he made some great runs off the shoulder and found space between their centre backs it's just a shame we couldn't pick him out a few times. He dropped deeper out of possession and fought for every ball, he's a strong little bugger, there was a couple of times they just bounced off him and he came away with the ball. Some of our football leaves me with my chin on my chest (well one of them anyway ) Bellingham and Ekwah are quality even at their young age and Dan Neil is just a class above. Young players will always make mistakes, personally I am delighted that we have this opportunity to see them develop and strut their stuff at our club.
I'm here to be corrected but there seems to be a correlation between someone wanting a disliked player dropped, or a favourite player brought in, and the criticism of Mowbray, his tactics and substitutions. Yes he gets things wrong and some subs don't work out but it's nowhere near as bad as is made out imo. You can actually see the players trying to work things out and they're all very vocal on the pitch. I find it all fascinating but don't expect it to click every time ... ... the biggest mistake we make is continually coming up against teams who also want to win
That’s exactly it for me Smug, I keep reminding my mates I sit with, teams don’t come here to roll over, they come with a strategy and a plan to get something out of the game, it’s naïve to think any different. Managers, coaches and players are all professionals and do their homework on the opposition. It’s not too long ago that visiting managers admitted that their first aim was to turn the SOL crowd against the team because once the crowd turned our players went into their shells. Thankfully even when we go behind now, there is an obvious effort by the crowd to get behind the players. I also understand some peoples need for glamorous young foreign managers to replace “Uncle Tony”, I personally believe that we are fortunate to have such a forward thinking, technical manager as Mowbray and think he is the reason many of the young players are attracted to us. I don’t follow other teams but I could probably name more young foreign managers who have bombed in the UK than those who were a success. I am definitely in the Mowbray camp and with me it is ‘be careful what we wish for or we might just get it’. I very rarely comment on match day threads because everyone is emotionally involved and has an opinion (me included) and it would be easy to get into a pointless argument. I prefer to believe that whatever we thought about the last game we will be at the next game loud and proud and get right behind the team.
I was sure it was Ekwah that was booked at the time but all sources seemed to say Ballard but happy days if it wasn't Ballard. I mean he's gonna get another sooner or later but ideally he picks it up to miss a game when he may nor be required as much. Hopefully he gets it for Huddersfield at home on 29th November if I had to choose
just finished the full 90, this time had franky and danny to listen to, strange how different commentators give differing views from the same game. missed a lot of humes work on saturday, they really should have had that lad sent off for the elbow (ridiculous that the linesman did not flag), i might have accepted the yellow if it had been his first foul but he had a go at roberts not 5 minutes earlier.. other than that i see nowt to change my mind, we came off a bad run and going a goal down to get a good win, our performances have been better but when you get a team wanting to sit back and foul rather than play the game it will always be scrappy...it was good that we just took control but both sides had plenty of mistakes, stick with my thoughts on jobe who got himself in good positions, did some good runs, linked up ok but it was his decision making and from what i saw he was getting himself frustrated so i think he needs a game or two to recharge, neil and ekwah are bouncing and we have pritchard and dack to come in. dont get me wrong though, i am not wanting any player dropped cos he has been sh1te, as far as i am concerned every single one of them has been spot on, i just think especially with the young lads a break does them the world of good...they are still learning and there will be mistakes but the three games per week might be just a bit much for them now.
Of course there is a correlation, unless I don't understand the word. As for the criticism Mowbray gets I,m sure he can handle it.
What did you make of Nazariy Rusyn’s performance in his first Sunderland start? The Ukrainian attacker was brought into the starting eleven on Saturday and showed some flashes of real promise. We asked our writers for their thoughts about his performance. https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/20...yns-performance-in-his-first-sunderland-start
Yep. I thought Rusyn was making runs no-one has really been making . He keeps making them, the midfield will get used to him doing it, and the chances will come.
You never know mate, we might take their spot. But we are a vast improvement on recent years of Grayson, Parkinson, Moyes, that cùnt from Man city who refused to play. I'm not naming the prick. You know the script. How I've yearned for a Sunderland side to win the league in my lifetime. But you know what ? As I get to old fart status, I'm just glad to see a good ballsy attacking side in the championship knocking on the premier league door. Just hurry the fook up
Cheers mate. Twitter and Facebook are making it harder to embed media now. I’ll try again. Edit - no joy, it was supposed to be some match day pics from the club’s Facebook page
