Don’t panic… feel sorry for Reading…. https://x.com/newcastlefanstv/status/1718630981014347849?s=46&t=h6JPQoh6Qsj4wqkdSRfGvw
He will balance the books. And probably invest for them to get up to top championship levels. He has enough money to do that. He can’t compete at the top of the PL.
The one thing he will do is milk them dry and the other thing he will kill any footballing ambitions. Ashley would be there for Ashley and nobody else.
Your right. He does it for Ashley. Which mean he will make a penny out of it. Hence the reason why he needs to invest. Then he will increase his return. To do that they need to be higher than where they are.
Agreed they will be mid table. He will invest to that level but no more. His ‘return’ however is the free advertising
Poor John Madejski must be really cringing at this prospect. After everything he put into the club, building the stadium and surrounding facilities, taking the club from old Div 3 to brief spells in the top flight, as well as developing a football academy in the local area. Now he sees them back in the old 3rd Div with the possibility of Fat Mike milking the club dry.
Lol, did Trev just say that Ashley will "milk reading dry" they're probably worth as much as a pint of milk. They're bottom of League One. He could get them back to the championship easy, anything above that for a club of Readings size is a massive bonus. When he came to Newcastle we had just had ownership investing millions upon millions in the vein hope we would become a CL/trophy winning side.
What’s the betting that Bruce goes to Reading, with Charley and Alex Bruce too? The plus side is that Obi won’t then be the fattest resident in Reading. He’ll be third.
Mike Ashley successfully found Newcastle a fantastic buyer in the end. I guess in the end he left Newcastle in a good place.
So basically it's like someone sadistically tortures you for 14 years, then gives you a reward at the end. He'll always be the world's biggest ****. I don't like Reading much, but I wouldn't wish Ashley on them, I wouldn't even wish Ashley on Sundershite.
Ashley is a great owner for any championship club or below. I predict Reading being promoted, doing well in general and Newcastle fans being told they had a good owner but had unrealistic expectations. It's going to be a labyrinth of opportunity for the media.
