I'm gonna be honest here. If Rodon is out injured then lack of pace at the back is gonna be a heck of a handicap against Leicester. Having a keeper that rarely saves a shot and if he does, just parries it back out into danger, is also a massive concern.

If Rodon plays and we are clinical in front of goal then I think we have a chance at getting something. We won't be keeping a clean sheet though. The full back situation is pretty dire tbh.

Never have truer words been spoken, Meslier is a real concern, we ship to many goals, and i bet the defence have no confidence in him, and panic which leads to mistakes/goals, we definitely need an upgrade at some point, if were serious about progressing to the next level.

There has been a little group of us that don't rate the likes of Meslier, Firpo, Struijk, Cooper and Bamford for quite a while but according to the happy clappers we've to quieten down, support the lads regardless or **** off over the pennines and support Man Utd.

    It puzzles me every week.

Your discourse is as ever duly noted as is your churlishness. We absolutely battered Huddersfield yesterday but if you'd rather focus on a very minor negative then so be it.

    Ps.
Notice all the Dan James critics are now very very quiet.

I did post in the Stoke match day thread whether we were missing the pace of both James and Summerville. I think Struijk is adequate at this level but we’ll need an upgrade if we go up. It’s not that I don’t rate Cooper, Ayling and Bamford but time is catching up with them. I am concerned about how many times the only shot on target by our opponents ends up being a goal. Meslier has had a couple of dodgy seasons now but would appear to be still the best we have, which is a worry.

All keepers make mistakes, even at the highest level it still happens.

However we wouldn't be Leeds United without rumours and some still seem to think Meslier is only 1st choice to try and enhance his value with a January departure in mind and that's probably the same ones who said he was leaving last summer as well.

Dan James is an excellent championship player and a joy to watch him skinning defenders. Exactly what we need. He’s not pl standard though but that’s not relevant at present

I think you'll find @stonkin tagged me in on his opinion on next Fridays game against Leicester. Have a read back mate so you understand how the thread evolved and read my reply about my concerns against Leicester. I thought we were obviously very good yesterday BUT that doesn't mean that the same performance will be enough at Leicester.

PS I think Dan James is a great Championship player. He has pace to burn. Even when we signed him I said that he was overpriced for what he was. If we go up though, I believe we need players with James pace but consistent quality and at a higher standard.

We would have still finished higher up the League last season with DJ in the squad.

    Just my opinion of course.

    Crazy to think from January last year we could actually have been playing a front four of;

    Summerville
    Dan James
    Georginio
    Rodrigo

Now posters can argue about whether that's PL quality or not but it looks pretty good to me.

Agree fully. One of the most baffling decisions under that regime was to send him out on loan

Not sure it would have mattered at the rate we were conceding goals anyway

Yep and after we bought Rutter he should have played, he started and looked decent against Fulham in the Cup but then barely got a look in after that.

Don't disagree that Rodon is key for us.

Not just away at Leicester but every game.

So far Farke has made 2 major errors of judgement.

    1) Leaving Rodon out when available against Southampton.
    2) Not starting Summerville, Kamara and Dan James at Stoke.

First one was misguided, rewarding Cooper for a good win against a toothless Watford and the second one he should have started with his best team and then looked to use the subs bench when the game was won. For example Summerville only really needed to play 45 mins yesterday.

Now as far as I'm concerned that just makes Farke human because the rest of his decisions he's got pretty much spot on.

James got me onside with his first interview about how happy he was to be back at Leeds despite being shipped out on loan. No moaning and ready to give his all. Quite refreshing after the summer we had.

I think I know your answer here and that you'll back Farke. Piroe should be up top and Georginio should be given a free role?

Georginio seems to be at his best picking the ball up deep, turning and running at the back 4. His passing range is very good.

Piroe on the other hand comes alive in and around the box and we waste him in midfield.
