Is the Gaza strip being carpet bombed?

Am I? Or are you just trying to create a silly narrative that you can then argue against? That post is the cyber equivalent of some dopey **** arguing with a statue.

Whatever else they're doing, the Israeli's are not carpet bombing civilians.

What you could ask is why the Israeli's are currently doing what they are, and the answer would include Hamas, who are quite likely responsible for more Palestinian deaths than Israel are.

I've said from the start of recent events, the situation is complex, and I do not know what the right answer is, but I do know that simplifying it to 'Palestinians good, Israel bad' or vice versa is the wrong answer.

I have every sympathy with the Palestinian civilians as they are caught in the middle of a struggle where various factions are using the situation to their own ends. The inflaming of the situation by naive virtue signalers trying to make it all about Palestinian victims, whilst ignoring the fact that Hamas and their associated allies have a stated aim of annihilating all non-muslims and are happy to slaughter their own in the process is putting many more people at serious risk.

When George Osborne chose austerity in 2010 after Labour had left the country skint but with 40 years of PFI debt, I am sure that Gordon Brown would have chosen the alternative option of catastrophic spending. I did also presume that most of the children being referred to by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation were born in the last fifteen years (since Bank of England free money started) as I do not think anyone over 16 is considered a child.

If Gaza was being “absolutely flattened” then this would all have been over on the 8th or 9th of October and Hamas would be trying to dig their way out of their tunnels from underneath the ruins of hospitals and schools in Gaza where they hide their Qassam missiles.
