The squad of players is certainly good enough to avoid relegation. Just need the right person to get them properly organised and motivated. I'm not a fan of Warnock, but he'd keep us up.
Is it? I’m not honestly that optimistic. The first XI when all fit is ok but as a squad it’s dire IMO. Duke, Bonner, Adomah etc. as our first reserves is bottom end of L1 at a push. The old heads as expected for desperate last minute signings are injured (Cook, Fox) or erratic/**** anyway (Colback). Who’s genuinely mid-table or better for this league? Chair, Field, Begovic for sure. Salter when fit (rare). Cannon looks fine so far. Dykes on his one good performance in five. The other regulars are about the level of where we are now. Paal is a woeful defender, Kakay is a fine squad player but not a regular, Dunne meh, Willock wants out, Smyth again a squad player at best for other teams in this league. Armstrong should be on loan in L1 or an option for 20 mins chasing a game. I don’t mean to sound negative but this is a weak squad no matter who inherits it IMO.
Warnock will get the best out of what you've already got ... and if he's given a few bob to spend in January, he will purchase astutely - he's done it time and time again ...
Bringing on Willock in the 90th minute was a disgrace a player of his quality should be on from the start
I’d have brought him on earlier for sure but he’s not exactly showing much to justify starting when he does play. Really missed Armstrong yesterday. Feel the way Leicester approached the game would have been ideal for him.
I obviously don't know, but I would guess there was a bit of a falling out there. It will be interesting to see how Willock and one or two others performs under a new coach.
Did anyone see or hear about a QPR fan having a heart attack outside S Africa Rd before the game? I've since heard that he died on the way to hospital. Very sad, RIP.
