The clearly stated lack of reinvestment from transfer funds received has given our usual season a bit of a dust off because the results are in on where we go from here. Nowhere is looking close again, and is fast catching up with us in our rear view mirror, and by the look of what was on display today doesn't auger well for the upcoming gamer against supposed 3 points certainties in Sheff Wed and QPR. The obvious lack of thoughtful investment in the last 2 transfer windows has led us to the point where we have many new players without any experience combined with seasoned veterans who look like they don't give a flying pig about their personal output. Weimann looks very angry with life and his performances show that part of his personality to a tee and he needs to get his head back on his shoulders and play his part as in the past. We look very not on the same page but even that trait would not have saved us today and it is only down to a sub-par game from Cardiff that we didn't lose by three or four. I can see a parting of the ways and if I were Nigel I would be so ticked off at the lack of support from the top that I would be weighing up my options, and for a manager of his calibre in an organization with belief and backing he could do a lot better than Bristol City. Another fine mess coming down the road I think.
Oh boo hoo you had players out so did we including our best player by a mile. Weimanns like 40 isnt he?
We play sheff Weds and QPR next Bottom two sides one home one away lose these and sadly I think Nige will walk away. He has been hung out to dry by the owners. He don’t need the money and with his health issues I think that would be the straw that breaks the camels back.
See you next week” “Yes you will indeed…. Hopefully, anyway…” How Nigel Pearson signed off his interview with @alidurdenBBC just now… bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football…
To be honest I don’t want Pearson to go but this limbo situation helps nobody - club, Nige or the players. Whatever is going to happen let’s get it done, so we can move on.
You guys do crack me up sometimes. Not too many weeks ago you were thinking with a couple more players you'd be contenders. Now you'll be lucky to avoid relegation! You talk about lack of investment yet you've probably spent more than we have since you came back up to our level and we've had two visits to the Premier League!! Your owner has spent millions on your club yet you'd ditch him tomorrow it seems. I'd be careful what you wish for. Thank you for the 3 points again today. They'll definitely help with our unexpected playoff push (which personally I think will fade, but who knows). And whatever your woes were today, remember you were playing a team that is effectively made up of free transfers and loan players, with not a penny spent again in the summer on fees ... Money isn't everything when it comes to building a team. Looking forward to normal service resuming and us hopefully doing the double over you again
Been disappointed since the age of 11 with City because my dad made me support them. But will always be a supporter
I'm totally brassed off with the current situation, the silence and lack of leadership coming from the Lansdowns is astonishing, where is their pride, their ambition, their leadership, the fans have got it, the players demonstrate it, the manager has proven it, without Bristol City FC Bristol Sport is a non entity, the facilities will look great in League one, act now give the guy a contract and some freedom of decision, or sack him and prove what a sad, shallow bunch you really are.
Yes. We’ve established ourselves in the second tier. Previously we spent most of our time in the 3rd tier.
Brizzle, the sensible ones on here knew we are a long way short of being contenders. There are some on here so deep in their hate/disdain for a former manager of ours, they will literally say anything to try and convince themselves and others that we have progressed since then. The stark reality is, we have not, and still don’t look like we will tbh. The way things seem to be shaping up at the club, I think the manager and owner are at loggerheads, and that only usually ends one way.
