Give us some credit. We’re currently playing a LWB in central defence a right midfielder as left back. A player who has played 16 minutes. We are not going to get pretty football today. Today’s about protecting the GD in my opinion.
We have too many players missing in action today and to expect anything different from this line-up would be a bit hopeful to say the least. I haven't heard Weimann's name mentioned other than for his woeful pass that gave Cardiff another chance from our mistakes. Cornick and Mehmeti can't complain about not being in the starting formation but so far have failed to impress me very much at all, and not just in this game. I fully understand our injuries are hurting us in more places than the treatment table but that should be handled by bringing in enough seasoned players to take up the slack, and clearly our poor attempts at building a decent squad seem set up for failure at every turn when it really matters. Being down only one goal away from home should still keep us in the game but our second half weaknesses could show up again with this weakened side and let's hope some half-time changes could ring a change of fortune.
First half recap City started brightly, had two or three good chances, and created a few good situations. Cardiff got back into the game, and gradually tested down the flanks, and won a fairly needless corner. If there is an inquest on that goal, then Max O'Leary will probably be wanting to run that again and come and impose himself and punch that clear - the ball dropped into the middle of his goal just five yards out and he stayed on his line. Goalscorer Ng had what was basically a free header and had a simple task of nodding in. Looking at the replays, Rob Dickie was drawn under the ball and Ng was pretty much unchallenged five yards out. Since the goal, City have come back into a bit more, and will be looking to create more in the second half... (Bristol Post)
Two defenders can't do their job and we go down 2-0. Lousy play all over the pitch and we are paying the price for the lack of spending when we needed players and had the money as well. Shocking lack of dedication to the supporters to expect this rubbish week in and week out.
Commentators just said this is another "what if" game for City but the only "what if" in my book is the lack of respect from our owner to the manager. If we should have to face many others with this line-up we could be at the bottom by the end of November and there can be no excuses from anyone.
We got what we deserved absolutely bugger all. Yes we have injuries but Cardiff deserved the points far more dangerous more direct. Shots on target by Bristol City FC very worrying. Clearly worrying times we are struggling to win games. ——-ONE SHOT ON TARGET——-
I think (and hope) there are 3 worse teams in the championship than us I know we have a lot of injuries but we are currently a country mile from even being in mid table obscurity
Training is not the same as a league game, many of our players have little or no championship experience tbf
I’d love to know the stats on us giving the ball away, I know we’re bogged down with injuries but that doesn’t excuse basics. We are so much better when we press, just no one with quality to make it count.. I personally think Yeboah should be loaned out to build his experience up, seems out of his depth imo.
A total gutless performance today, we made an average Cardiff side look good. We will be nowhere near the top half of the table this season. Again….
Many chairman would have sacked him long ago, SL is overly loyal to his managers, we saw it with LJ as well, but eventually enough is enough. It’s not just the results, it’s the performances, we were pi$$ poor v Cov as well, despite winning.
That’s harsh, did you really expect any better from todays lineup, we don’t have a big enough squad, I know we have a lot of injuries, but that’s why you need a bigger squad. The championship is so competitive and the matches come thick and fast. It’s a double edged sword, because you have a small squad we can’t rotate the players, which causes more injuries, which impacts more because we have a small squad. SL should have used SOME of the Scott money to allow a few more players to be added to the squad.
SL needs to sell up clearly not investing any more. we are closer to bottom four than top six. clearly says he would sell then sell SL let someone or a consortium take us forward.
