Carlton Cole scoring 2 goals in 2 minutes tonight against the almighty Burnley. That's not helping our argument for not signing him. I hope Alan Pardew isn't paying attention :emoticon-0107-sweat

Hopefully form like that will alert Liverpool to him and we won't be able to match the financial package they come up with. Here's hoping.

Don't worry, I distracted Pardew with tickets to a Casino. That should keep him busy

Didn't get the Chron tonight but seem to remember seeing something on the back page about him ( AP ) being happy with the strike force we have.

He's happy with their form but he is tracking strikers to sign, we cant possibly have just 4 strikers next year, 2 of which in their 30s and another only turning 20.

We need at least one class striker that will get us goals.

I'd like one proven forward like Pavlyuchenko or Bendtner and one gamble that Graham Carr finds for us - van Wolfswinkel?

Yeah if I'm being a bit optimistic then one proven and Ranger and/or Airey can be the gamble.

Don't know why there is so much focus on Bendtner, he's only scored 2 goals this season in the prem, equal with Coloccini.

True but Colo is class ;)

Also he doesnt get much game time, he is about 6th choice to play in the front 3 for them, and had more than 2 goals in the cups/CL.

    It's OK.

I saw Mike walking Alan through the park last night when the match was on.

That Alan certainly has a turn of speed on him. When Mike threw him scraps he was like lightning!

Please not Cole. I've never understood why he's so highly rated. Is it because Capello believes that the only qualification for playing for England is to play in London?

He was useless at Chelsea, and his goal record at the hammers isn't much better. Please now.

And Alan, did you SEE the first goal? Jeeze.

Is that his second brace in senior football? Not bad for a 27 year old <doh>

    Jesus, 27 years old too?

He's our type of striker though, Ameobi, Cort, Cole. Big, powerful, full of potential, but injuries never allow them to show it.

This. Doubt Arsenal would let him go cheaply either...

I think that if pardews goning to buy an experianced BPL player then he's got to go for Pav or Doyle
For me though i think the souts have to be out looking for the next Tiotes

Because he has been playing a bit part role, when given a run of games i can see him being a constant threat. God knows he is brilliant with his head, but he is class with his feet also:

He would be doing this sort of thing alot more often is given a good run. + Young.
