What a great day out! We loooked like scoring every time we crossed the halfway line we always knew when we started taking some chance some team was going to get a thrashing and Nothampton helped us with some poor defending (poor old Kelvin trying to cope with two forwards running at him with precious little cover!). In over half a century of following the Shrews that is the most goals I have ever seen us score away. I missed the Luke Rodgers game at Rochdale some years ago but the most away goals I have seen us score before now was in a 5-2 win over Wigan the year we won the League under Fred Davis. Surely this is a good omen for promotion this year. Difficult to pick out a Man of the Match with such a performance but I would have to give it to Gornell whose clever runs and link-up play carved gaping holes in their defence. I was also very pleased with Wildig who grew into his new role on the right and tackled and passed the ball really well. The new full back Hurst also did OK. In a season where we have already beaten some of our bogey teams like Port Vale and Torquay lets go on to beat Morecambe next week.

no accounting for taste tinned hats. personally a pint of 3 tuns ale and a cordon bleu entrecote beef and hoseradish sauce sandwich would suffice at £4.40 all in, where? amongst the spilled ale and parsnip chrisps on the flagstone flloors of the railway inn yorton. well done liz great beer and good food .

by the way tinned hats when are you setting off to iceland in your search for penguins. do take a gun, i understand the polar bears are unfriendly

:tongue:its been a few months since ive been in the railway, but you've hit the nail on the head, the plush carpets at the Inn are a far more softer landing than the hard floors of the railway when coming into land after 7 pints of cask!!....and rubbish, ive only met one angry Polar bear , and he had bi-polar

    Atcham,
The first Northampton goal was a good free kick blasted through a ruck of players - difficult to see that being stopped. The second was Akinfenwa getting free for one of the very few times in the match. It was a classy finish bent around the defender - Neal did seem to dive a bit late but was probably unsighted.
