He scored a hat trick in the Under23s win against Swansea yesterday. It finished 4-2. Will he go straight into the team against Fulham?
I notice Chuks Aneke started his first game for Charlton this season on Tuesday. Rumour was that Aneke has a heart condition that was kept secret from fans but was known about by the Club when he was re-signed. And that this condition meant he could only play bit-parts in matches, and could also not play when the weather was too warm. Well he managed 70 minutes the other evening. I don't know if the weather was particularly chilly, but could it just possibly be that this 'heart condition' story is just another fabrication?
Can’t see anyone giving him a 3 year contract if there was any truth in that ? Although this is Charlton
There will come a point where Aneke just cannot recover from these injuries. This season we've got about 6 games out of him, and apparently glimpsed what he's capable of. But he just cannot stay fit. Time to call it a day.
https://www.charltonafc.com/news/chuks-aneke-injury-update Out for at least 2 months. We all know it will be 6 months. Awful call from Appleton to start him in that game. He can’t last more than 45 minutes absolute max. 20/25 off the bench should be his place.
Not only start him, but keep him on for more than an hour. The longer the game went on the more likely the inevitable became.
Yes - easy to be wise after the event, but it was a real worry as the minutes dragged on. Hopefully Apples will learn.
