Yes but at least their neighbours have won something of note (and a lot of it)

Yeah because it was outside the ground and the police did [NSFW]**** all about it.[/NSFW] They even kept us back in while the City fans queued up waiting for us, someone chucked a bottle a one of my friends who was 13 at the time. Apparently last year when Sunderland played there the police were kicking off at them for no reason.

Have to say I think it would be difficult for toon fans to get a firework in the ground, everyone of us, from what I saw, was searched on the way in.

    This happened last month.

    Video description :

An aging blue in 109 who refused to sit whilst those around him and the away fans stood. Showsec picked him out as their let's-make-an-example-for-the-day (they do this every week) and then called for the police. The bloke in question sat down before the police went to his seat, even with those around him still standing. They went and spoke to him, and, whilst he was sitting down, told them he hadn't done anything wrong. The GMP seized an opportunity, or at least they thought they did, when Balotelli scored to try and manhandle him out of the ground. I didn't see how the man ended up on the floor but he can clearly be heard in the video saying he takes tablets for a heart problem before they took him out and at no point did I see him forcibly resist. Their treatment of him was disgraceful and that's not all. When the GMP waded into the crowd people were getting elbowed out of the way or knocked over, myself and a kid no older than seven included! Completely out of order and an exemplar for any aspiring stewards or policemen and women in how not to defuse a situation. There's also reports of Showsec stewards lashing out at fans. I did not see these events however but the above description is my eye witness account and I would swear to it in court.

Remember seeing that on here, would just rather a nicer team than them or Man Utd would win the league or get to watch a quality team like that.

I was searched, although I'm 16 so the steward asked me if I was okay with being searched, so a younger fan could possibly have got away with it although I think it unlikely.

Yeah, I saw a bit on the telly with this. Not sure what happened, or what was the cause.

But I do want to say this is part of football I hate. It's fine to have a bit of passion, rivalry or banter. But when the result becomes so important that you want to start doing hurt to a complete stranger, then you've just lost the plot. And it also takes away from the game.

I realize that it's just a minority of fans that behave this way. But it lets everybody down when it happens.

It's also, frankly, a bit sad for them. I mean, if you think that a football game is a reason to beat someone up, obviously you have bigger problems in your life than what other people think of your team.
