Good Morning. It's Thursday 26th October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds lose ground after Stoke shocker Leeds lost ground with the Championship pacesetters after an inexcusably poor performance at strugglers Stoke City last night. Leeds just couldn't find their rhythm, and produced some of the most shocking football seen in a long time. Stoke weren't much better, but at least put a shift in. They lacked creativeness, confidence and composure, all the trademarks of a struggling Championship outfit, yet Leeds made them look like Barcelona. Neither team looked like scoring, that is, until ten minutes from the end, when Leeds skipper Pascal Struijk nodded the ball into his own net from two yards, after bouncing awkwardly off the cross bar. Five minutes earlier, Leeds should have put the game to bed, after Bamford, was clumsily bundled over in the penalty box. The ref had no choice, but to point to the spot. Whether it was a good idea to allow a player, who had only just stepped onto the pitch to take a penalty never entered the players minds. Before it could be debated, Bamford had already skied his first touch, high and wide, and out of the stadium! There are undiscovered indigenous tribes from deep within the Amazon rain forest that could have put on a better spectacle. The vague hope that the game could only improve as the match progressed, forced many to endure the torment, with the expectancy that things could only get better - little did we know! please log in to view this image Bamford will not be taking next penalty Daniel Farke has announced that Patrick Bamford will not be taking Leeds next spot kick. The ER gaffer was answering questions from journalists, when the subject of penalties arose! In the most diplomatic way he could, Farke explained that the 30yo just wanted to prove the doubters wrong, but due to his 'run of misses', the burden of responsibility would fall on someone else the next time the referee points to the spot Bamford mistook Twickenham for the Bet365 Stadium, and skied his spot kick, way over the crossbar, quite an achievement from twelve yards out. Crysencio Summerville was equally keen to take the penalty last night, but with ball in hand, Bamford had no plans to relinquish it, opting to go it alone. “I haven’t spoken to him. His first miss under my regime. After raising it, next game a different player will take one. Patrick is the most disappointed in the dressing room. I do not need to address it with him. “He wanted to prove the doubters wrong. He does not have to prove anyone wrong. Perhaps it is the right decision to let someone else take one on this run of misses he has had.” please log in to view this image
Morning all. Rather than announce Bamford wont be taking next penalty Id have preferred Farke to say Bamford wont be at club after weekend. What a complete and utter waste of a wage and were stuck with the useless lump as nobody else would have him. As my seven year old grandson said this morning, Athlone town wouldn't have him and they are second division league of Ireland. The race for first and second place is done realistically, a runaway for the top two. We will be good enough for a play of place so bulk of the excitement will be reserved for end of season lottery. Very disappointed in Farke last night. Seemed to get everything wrong
Morning everyone Bamford is not good enough but we are stuck with him. He got a stupidly long contract and we are now paying the price. The team we started with should have been good enough to beat a hopeless Stoke. Archie is not a right back and needs rest. No way will we get autos if Farke continues to mess about with the team. We are not good enough in certain areas. Defence is not good enough Struijk needs dropping and finishing by such as james/rutter /gnonto way below auto's standard.
Morning all, To me most of the blame needs to go to Farke. The changes messed the team up and the two wide players bought nothing into the game and changed the dynamic of the rest of the players. James and Summerville get the ball closer to our halfway than Gnonto and Anthony and use their pace to get forward. The two last night were higher up the pitch wanting the ball or sat deep then unable to do what their counterparts do. As for Bamford. I don't want to defend him because that was a criminal miss but as the striker on the pitch you want him to be wanting to take the penalties, not shying away. He and Summerville looked an improvement when they came on.
Morning all Leeds fans. Just got back from Cyprus two days ago so not logged in for a while but what a crap game to come back to. Didn't see the Ipswich game but why change a winning side? Ok, I know we only won that game after Farke eventually went with five forwards in the second half but Summerville is on fire, what the hell was he doing on the bench last night? Been impressed with Farke but you have to question the starting line-up.
Tinkerman Dan totally ****ed up last night, not for the first time either. His lack of respect for Stoke and him trying to please everyone will cost us dearly as the season progresses Play your best team you daft **** and don't let anyone take a penalty who can't hit a ****ing barndoor from a few metres
Morning all Bamford wanted to prove the doubters wrong... That says it all for me, what a selfish reason to step up for the kick, if he had scored he wouldn't have proved anyone wrong, if he'd have scored yesterday it would have been one in the last three, that's not proving any doubters wrong. It wouldn't have made up for the end of last season misses Sadly the majority of the fans fans (including me) seem to have given up on him, last seasons death threats (disgusting behaviour) and social media abuse have also taken it's toll on him, he doesn't love Leeds United, he is not enjoying his football and he is at war with the fan base. For everyone's sake it would be best for him to move on.
Morning all. We lost a game of football that's all so no need to be blaming everyone from Farke to the tea lady.
One stand out player last night and that was Rutter again. He was back tackling in defence a lot and was trying to get us going from back in our box countless times. He had a couple of half chances he created for himself but got nothing from Anthony or Gnonto as they dont know how to cross a ball. Anthony and Gnonto were pants and maybe because they spent most of the game helping out Byram and Gray but we had no outlet and we couldn’t string 2 passes together all night Bamford has done nothing for this club in the last 2 and half years. This is his 3rd season of not being available or just shyt. He had only just come on last night and he has missed pens last season twice maybe 3 times. I knew he would miss and guess many of us knew he would miss. I feel for him but he will get dogshyt today and he deserves it I thought Gruev looked ok in amongst all the garbage as even Ampadu wasn’t on form
Good morning everyone It really looks like a play off place atm as things stand, Leicester will walk this league and Ipswich even when not playing well some how grind out results, keep thinking they will hit a bad patch and the wheels will come off, but sadly no sign of that and the points keep coming, and so they have all the attributes that are needed for auto's, which we sadly have not, with us it's three step forwards one leap backwards, i guess it's consistency what's needed, which Leicester and Ipswich have.
Can certainly see Leicester "doing a Burnley" and romping away with it, but surely Ipswich can't keep this up for an entire season. The trouble is we keep shooting ourselves in the foot.
