What a win. Not the cleanest of performances, but after so long without a match - that was what we needed. Crucial three points on the road!
Another great three points, well done to all the lads and the travelling faithful. Not the prettiest second half but it got the job done.
Good night's work. Gets us moving again after the break. Doesn't sound like the best performance, but it can't be perfect every match. Banana Skin avoided
Giddy, giddy heights!Nine points clear of third with a game in hand, beyond our wildest dreams. COYB!!!
Great 3 points but we definitely missed Ladapo from the bench. Hirst works so hard that he can’t play 90 minutes and as Spanish said Scarlett doesn’t look up to it but we take the 3 points and on to Saturday. Think Hutchinson will start but not sure who he will replace - depends how the team recovers after today and Taylor may also get a game.COYB
Great performance particularly first half. I thought Luongo was MOM, he controlled the game in the first half, broke up play and some of his passing was phenomenal (as was Chaplins). To be fair I thought the majority of the team played superbly, it tailed off a bit second half but none the less a great away performance and result. Just a couple of more critical observations, I thought whilst Jackson didn't have a bad game and he worked hard he clearly wasn't at the same level of quality as the rest of the team and he wasted quite a few crosses. Also I'm still not 100% convinced my Williams defensively, he seems a little bit rash and all the attacks first half were coming down that side..we looked a little vulnerable. I do feel a little sorry for Donacien as he has never let us down defensively. Also I thought Hladky's distribution and contribution on the ball tonight was superb however as we got deeper and the ball started coming into our box he either was rooted to his line or flapped at a few things which required the ever dependable Burgess to get him out of trouble. Agree with the points in regards to missing Ladapo, I thought Hirst had a superb first half but second half again he wasn't that bad but his touch was a little off (one thing Ladapo probably is better than him at) however disagree in regards to Scarlett, I thought he looked alright. Also felt Morsy was walking a tight rope tonight, really surprised McKenna didn't sub him but I guess that shows you how much he values him.
Great assessment, the only point I'd disagree with you on is Scarlett. He's failed to impress me so far,but I'm willing to be patient with him,KMc must see some potential or he wouldn't be here.
Away end for you guys impressive long journey that 6/7 hours both ways. My take I like the way your front players played on the deck quick passing football and looked dangerous going forward-soft goal we conceded and should have been saved by our goalkeeper. Second half we should have got a goal or two. However it keeps your excellent run going. Stoke did you a favour beating Leeds it keeps you in a good position. As said I still say Leeds will take second spot come the end. However fair play your team looks well drilled and top six is a real possibility. Us we would be happy with a top 10 finish come the end. All the best going forward Ipswich were my second team when at school under that great team Bobby Robson put together.
Another excellent evenings work, 3 more pts away from home, after that predictable rusty start - only about 10 mins Hampy! My take away: Chappers, Hirst, Luongo in fine form Burgess a tower of strength Willams showed his vulnerability and strengths today - he was often exposed down the right Hladky fine distribution if a little scary at times, several great saves, but a bit of a flapper! We missed Freddie today - Jackson doesnt cut the mustard for me, and wonder what Burnsy was saying in the studio. Scarlett a puzzle, no real presence but as others have said, KM must see something in him. Davis is arguably our best and most consistent player - superb. I want to see Hutch start a game. It still beggars belief that we are 9 pts clear of 3rd with a game in hand. Roll on Saturday!
