Working near Farringdon today so had a stroll around Hatton Garden and Leather Lane market. Plenty of religious Jews and Arabs/Muslims in traditional dress and no one is arsed. I think there’s a vocal minority full of hate but for the most part people are just getting on with it.
So, according to the head of the Met Police, when a river-to-sea hate preacher stoking up a crowd of Islamists that have clenched fists raised and are screaming "Jihad!", that term might be something quite innocuous and not worth of precious police attention. Perhaps the police think Jihad! could be the Middle Eastern equivalent of "Here, Here!" or "Well said!". Maybe they think the crowd are calling to a bloke called Jihad who's wandering about trying to find the meeting. Sometimes, you just cannot credit those at the top of the Police Force with anything more than the brains of an ostrich

Mainly the timing of it. He was more or less suggesting that Israel were getting their just desserts. I know many people agree, but with hostages being held and many delicate discussions taking place, he could and should have chosen his words more carefully. He obviously wanted to make a point.
