I think Jobe needs some time out. He's only 18, and has never played this frequently before. He was brilliant the beginning of the season, but he's looking laboured and tired, and I'd hate to see him burnt out, maybe 4 or 5 matches on the bench, so he's still involved.
Burstow needs dropping. Offers nothing and has had plenty of game time already. Hemir may not run around as much but he needs to be given a proper chance, and the size of him will make defenders worry.

And after every defeat you blame 09.

Also not every decent centre half had to be 6ft plus

Edit, maybe later, just maybe we have been unlucky, players have had off days and god forbid some of the backup players aren't ready to step-in.

You know like a normal club in our position.

But as its bed time, I will just agree to disagree that everything can be blamed on 09

Local press is saying you have been our sternest test to date, and I'd agree ... Hull picked our pockets - scored early and rode it out - but on any other day we win that by 2 or 3 ... you've got a lot of good ingredients- just need to pick the right recipe and also get that little bit of luck when it matters ...

Our squad depth is rather daft at this level - we'll lose Ndidi, Iheanacho, Daka and Futawa to AFCON but are likely to have Tom Cannon, Denis Praet and Kasey McAteer back from injuries by then, plus 2 of our best academy prospects, Alves and Braybrooke back from ACLs ops which have kept them out for the last 6/9 months ...

As I said before, good luck until we meet again and trusting you will take some points off other teams chasing us <cheers>

How's Batth played so far in his 4 minutes at Norwich?

Agreed Jobe needs a break, he's hovered between fine and good but he's too young for this much game time. I'd be giving Rigg more minutes.

Also agreed about Burstow, I reckon if Hemir or Rusyn had his minutes they'd have done something with them.

I blame whoever I think is poor, I’m not fickle I don’t change my opinion every other game.. I mentioned numerous times that people were going on ridiculous about Roberts and he’s a half decent championship winger at best. Hume hasn’t had a great start to the season. Ballard also has a mistake in him. But if we’re to be honest Ballard is going to either be our CB for a while or we’re going to make a lot of money on him therefore if you’re replacing one of them it’s O’nien. Unless you have another suggestion as to how we’re to start defending set pieces?

Granted not every decent CB has to be over 6ft but go and find one for a top club in this day and age who’s not, there’s very few. The only one I can think of in the PL is Martinez.

Batth's start at Norwich would suggest that either his legs have gone or he's not yet recovered from last season's injuries. Either way, it's vindication the club's decision not to renew his contract.

Rusyn should be playing through the middle I’m bored of listening to this bollocks about not knowing the language. What other club makes their statement signing someone they aren’t willing to play for 6 months until they learn perfect English? Gabriel Sara signed for Norwich last season without knowing a word of English and played 40 games for them doing just fine.

well, took the hound out for a walk cos i have been ill the past three nights and it was actually good to get back out in the cold again, also give mesel a little bit thinking time.

from what i have seen of other games this one must be 'game of the season' so far at least, it was damn good not to have to sit and watch one team or the other simply falling to the floor every chance and watching two good teams battle it out, i tried not to worry too much about the ref and officials because as soon as i saw he was ref i expected a lot of rubbish going against us, while i am not willing to say he had a 'good' game he did ok and easy to miss the tackle on dan neil while they should have had a pen for cirkin pulling the lads shirt well into the pen area, he at least was bad/good for both teams and probably more good than bad.

plenty been said about roberts but clarke (despite his goals) is also guilty of hanging onto the ball too long, both players seemed to know just the right time to run and the right time to pass last season, i think they keep trying to play without a striker there/score the perfect walk it into the net goal.

figured onien would return to the firing line soon, he was watching vestergaard (but it was a pretty hopeless task to be honest) so 'his' player did not get free and jobe should have done better as he saw the lad coming to him, but then he is not a defender and is still learning...ekwah, i was watching him and thought he looked like a 6 foot bloke with 10 inch legs, granted he is only on 2nd game after a return but he was really struggling, think him and jobe really struggled to get into the game...onien made two excellent tackles when lads were through and took a few 'wild swings' from vestergaard at one point, we do not seem to try to have hume/huggins partnering clarke/roberts as much, just wondering if it something TM has tried to bring in but clarke/roberts need more help.

anyway, that was pretty much what i wanted to see, a good reaction but i would have them on the pitch and rain crosses/corners/free kicks in from all over the pitch to get them used to watching and judging the flight of the ball plus they should all 'do a beckham' and stay late to practice shooting.

anyway, enough of a rant, well played in general lads, game could have gone either way and was a good watch...dan neil is getting my MotM and will excuse his shooting because of all the good work he did in the middle, i kept thinking he was not the lad for that role and he has kept proving me wrong, aye he makes a mistake or two but i am of the opinion 'you learn through your mistakes' and he certainly is.

what were your final thoughts then?

seen reports that it was leicesters toughest game so far and i thought it was a very good game...not worried about the officials they at least did not favour one side, some of our lads looked a bit 'leggy' and had lost that extra 10% they usually seem to have.

leicester have this league sorted mind, it is their championship to lose even this early.

Posted earlier that the side that played the better football lost tonight. However from a Sunderland perspective there was so much to be positive about and it would seem you look set fair for a decent season with the play offs definitely a distinct possibility.

It was an even game. We done everything right bar put the ball in the net but unfortunately like the Cardiff game a sloppy goal turns it into a loss. Roberts was actually really good at beating his man tonight and getting into good positions but his end product was shocking he tries to do far too much. I’d argue he was our best player- only really Him, Patterson or Neil who stood out.

Defence all over the place for a few chances in which the hit the post. First one O’nien was closer to the half way line than his own box when Bellingham got caught in possession. Second one Ballard follows Iheanacho, O’nien wanders right and follows KDH and there’s a simple ball over the top which none of them are anywhere near. Ballard can’t get back in time and Patto saved it.

I lost count of how many times we tried to walk the ball in but they also fluffed a few chances. A draw would’ve probably been fair but I don’t think there would’ve been too many arguments if we took all 3 points.

Enjoyed the game good reaction after the Stoke game. Some of our play was excellent but Frustrating we have so much of the play and loads of chances but don’t test their keeper. We have scored a few this season but what a difference a goal scoring centre forward would make We do look very vulnerable though. All of their chances came from lack of experience in midfield Ekwah is still way off the pace Think he’ll be a big player for us but was poor tonight completely by passed when they ran at us What a difference a strong defence mid would make would give the kids a platform to play We are still an entertaining but at times frustrating work in progress could do with getting back to winning ways on Saturday

Excellent game of football. The main difference other than the linesman missing the penalty decision was Patterson was man of the match and their keeper wasn’t worked anywhere near enough. I’m still not stuck on Burstow either.

Its absolute bollox, I have heard Mowbray mention that these lads have to sort their phones out, learn English and learn how to drive. **** off man they are playing football not learning string theory!
