An emotional night for most at OT tonight, a night when the fans can express their sorrow at the loss of Sir Bobby Charlton. High emotions among the fans then, but, such is football, only three or four of the squad would have known him in person and are likely not to be caught up in the emotion of the night. That said, if the team can't raise their game and put on a winning performance tonight of all nights, then they can all pack their bags. This is a must win game on many levels and I hope the game ends up as a fitting tribute to the great man, the legend.
Just to add some subs for you Substitutes: Bayindir, Heaton, Evans, Lindelof, Eriksen, Hannibal, Mount, Pellistri, Garnacho, Martial. PS...i am pretty sure that anyone who was at the club last season will have met Sir Bob quite a few times so more than 3 or 4 I make it 7 of the starting line up and 8 of the subs.
I ****ing hope so, i was ****ting myself after posting my first match thread on Sunday, i thought i had killed us
Just watching the announcement at OT about Charlton, it suddenly hits you. He's an incredible loss in so many ways.
So I'll give my 10 min assessment in 2 mins, but I think we can already see what the next 90 mins will be like.
Yeh and the whole impetus has come from the workrate of Hojlund, Antony and Dalot. Somehow their enthusiasm to actually give a fck has changed the mindset of others. Bruno's been largely ****. He's just ambling along, playing the occasional back pass.
We're still nowhere near convincing btw. This is Copenhagen ffs. So the occasional half decent bit of play is nothing to crow about.
Our best bit of play came from him winning a tackle then going past a player before playing the ball forward in a one two and then out to Antony. So I can see why they've focused on that.
