I sincerely hope everyone is enjoying a drink after what was definitely the dullest game of the premier league today. Thought I'd pop in and join in who I thought was good/bad and see everyone else's thoughts.

A point was disappointing when we were definitely expecting 3 but I was very pleased with what I thought was a very convincing clean sheet. I thought Kieran Westwood was class again, and I really feel assured when he's between the sticks.

I thought Sess was very good, in and about things as usual but I was disappointed at the lack of ball to Bendtner. We all know he's a massive bloke but I think we all know he likes the ball at his feet and I was somewhat surprised to see the pass to him overlooked on quite a few occasions. Colback was industrious and efficient again but I think it's time for Craig Gardner to step into that slot. We need another box-to-box alongside cattermole that wants to score. Colback for me, as good he could potentially become, is still more concerned about not giving the ball away rather than pushing forward and taking a chance.

Some may know that I am big Cattermole supporter and I thought he was class again today. When he got his booking I quickly checked this site to see what sort of battering he gets, and there it was "he's a liability, bet he gets sent off before the end of the half etc etc". I can't blame the boys on here for thinking that with his track record, but I sincerely believe that his performances this year have been deserving of a starting spot. We all know that he can't score a goal to save his life, but he breaks up play with the best of them and works so hard for the team.

    Elmo, crap.

I can't wait to see more of that young Noble lad, and hope to see Mclean and more of Cook. Some may say that this is the time to play the veterans but for me I want to see guys that are begging to be in the team and trying to prove their worth. Think that sort of desire is what made wickham so refreshing, because he was not only fighting for the team but for his own starting spot.

As disappointed as I am with the draw, I still believe that their were positives to be drawn and look forward to next weekend.

Great start. Could have been three up in ten mins. Not sue if they were bad misses as in North stand concourse. Turner and Colbacks both looked easier to score.
Then I don't think we had a meaningful shot for and hour.
Catts and Colback stifle out the opposition but offer less than nothing as an attacking force.
Elmo had about 30 attempts to cross today. They were aimless punts to no one in particular or he lost the ball in good position or they didn't get past the first man or he just gave up. Scape goat or not he's ****e.
Ricco flatters wherever he plays. Don't like him anywhere really but is to lazy to be on the wing and just drifts out of games.
Bendtner was totally fed up with a lack of service.
Sess as usual tried everything he could. Lost the ball more often than not and still a tad greedy for me. AND the little so and so should have scored at the end cos I had £20 on at 7/1. But great save.
Last ten minutes we tried to put pressure on them and in nearly backfired. Fulham should have scored.
Westwood was a positive for me.
Bruce again shows his inability to change a game that we are struggling in.

Fulham was a big, big game for me. Wigan is a massive, massive one.

Cattermole and Colback shouldn't be paired together for home games. No real creativity or goal threat from either of them in my opinion

Do we have a creative central midfielder?

Depends on your definition of "creative"! However, I would certainly argue a Vaughan/Gardner partnership would create and score more goals than the 2 who played today.

    Quite!

Out of what we have within the squad it would be Vaughan and Meyler for me...

I think Gardener has looked pretty weak so far.
    Vaughan has impressed
    Catts or Colback, not both.

One or the other with One or the other.

    Simples.

So, i haven´t seen any of the game as have been a busy boy today, but i guess we were apalling, again?

In reality, we all know the squad is massively lacking pace and creativity, and only one man can be blamed for that.

We need to spend massive money on a truly creative centre mid, and even bigger on a striker, my concern is that Ellis will back Bruce and his ´fans expect too much´ stance will see us ending up with yet more mid-table on a good day players.

He is so negative on and off the park, we must change the perception of the club, starting with the public figurehead, aka, the manager.

I like Cattermole for the reason that he does try his very best when he wears the colours however I think it might be the right time to cash in and bring in a creative centre midfielder. We have Vaughan, Meyler and Colback who can all do the same job. I only hope that it is a new manager that will be cashing in because it's a helluva longtime to go with Bruce still in charge.

    Couldn't agree more.
Even some of the posters on here have been blaming the fans rather than Bruce.
Our only flair player (Sess) doesn't always look enamoured of Bruce's tactics and may lead to his exit from the club.

Got a ticket today off an ill mate so went up and i thought there was several big problems

Elmo was awful and dropped off when the RB moved up to help its a shame of the suspention because you whould have won with a decent crosser

Dickson Etuhu should have been sent off this wasnt a problem for sunderland however after he stayed on the should have targeted him more

Bentner he kept drifting off wide and leaving no one up frount

Gardner should have come on or started giving an attacking mid

Brown lets the ball bounce alot not sure why but that wwasnt today but could be a problem in outher games

Ryan being left till late its a joke

putting on a striker by bruce but clearly sean by me and the crowd around me as telling the team to go back and hold on

Also the Bruce Out chants started to catch on towards the end...

    Why didn´t we scout Cabaye?

I know we hate to admit it, but the lad is absolute class, he cost half a million less than Gardner for **** sake.

Diego Capel, a lightning quick Spanish international, left footed left winger, went to Sporting for 3.5million euro.

We have one creative player (Sess) and he has so little confidence in the players around him, he overplays.

Seb is ok, but is ok good enough?

We´re back in the ****, we are so devoid of pace that any team in the league can easily defend against us.

This, how come Bruce cannot buy flair players. Now I'm a follower of La Liga and there are soooo many goods players there going cheap. Bruce for some reason does not venture into the other European leagues. Its either SA leagues or fringe players from prem teams..

Aye, we're on the road to nowhere.

I was looking forward to welcoming my friend Jen up here next season to play the Saints.

However, I am increasingly aware that that may not be on the fixture list.
