Good Morning. It's Tuesday 24th October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds were transparently open to offers for Summerville Up until Daniel Farke got his feet under the table at Elland Road, the club were 'transparently open' to letting Crysencio Summerville leave the club during the Summer! That's according to Leeds Utd journalist Phil Hay, who penned an interesting article about the young Dutchman, following Leeds' heroics at the weekend. His four year tenure had generally consisted of cameo appearances, and like so many other promising youngsters at the club, looked set to miss the cut, with the club labelling him surplus to requirements only four months ago. Whether it was dropping down a division, Farke's Midas touch, or simply the time was right for him to step up, Summerville has shot to the top of the ratings this season, serving his doubters a large slice of humble pie in the process. It wasn't that long ago that the 21yo had been singled out after press reports identified him as having a bad attitude, a label its taken a long time to shake off. Fortunately for the Whites, by the time Burnley finally came along with an offer, Farke had already taken a shine to Summerville, and Leeds refused their advances. That the Clarets been quicker off the mark, they would have got themselves one of the bargains of the Summer. please log in to view this image Orta fires back During a recent interview with 'Inews', Victor Orta has his back at criticism from Leeds fans during his six year stay at Leeds Utd. Large sections of the Elland Road faithful turned on the 44yo after a succession of failed transfers saw Leeds nosedive toward the foot of the Premier League table. He recalls one occasion where he 'lost it' with a fan who threatened his son. “You hear a person abuse you for 30 minutes without stop and his last words were ‘If you don’t bring any players in the winter market, be careful with your son.’ I said, ‘Come here to fight’. I agree it was a bad example but I’d like to know how many people could be cool after a level of abuse like that.” He struck gold by bringing in Marcelo Bielsa and Raphinha, but unfortunately for Orta, failures heavily outnumbered positives, and towards the end of last season, the writing was on the wall, and the Spaniard opted to fall on his sword. “The thing I feel proud about is not bringing in Bielsa or buying Raphinha but the culture I created where, from Maria Dowson in the ticket office to the scorer of the goals, Patrick Bamford, all the people could contribute to the success and were committed to the success of Leeds United." please log in to view this image Top flight strugglers preparing January bids for Summerville Multiple media sources are suggesting that Everton and Burnley are lining up January bids to lure Crysencio Summerville away from Elland Road. Everton's obsessive behaviour towards Yorkshire's finest is considered by many to be borderline stalking. Like a moth to a flame, their fascination could lead to them getting burnt, when the results of their financial fair play hearing are published next month. Points deductions, massive fines and a £300m lawsuit await the Toffee's if found guilty of financial irregularities. As far as Burnley are concerned, it looks like the Clarets have missed the boat. They had the opportunity to take a £12m punt on Summerville back in June, and with Leeds pushing for automatic promotion, it will need a monumental bid to persuade the Elland Road hierarchy to part with one of their biggest assets. please log in to view this image
Burnley are coming straight back down so why would he go there in January, unless Everton get a points deduction in which case they’ll go down, so again why go there?
Leeds have a couple of aces in the hole that will Impact FFFP rules in our benefit. Summerville, Gehardt, Meslier, Gnonto, Struijk, Greenwood. We paid just over £11m for the lot but we could get north of £50m for them now. Lets be honest we have cover for all of them if needed
Afternoon all Orta - Who is Orta We’ll be top two soon so why would Summerville leave for a PL team heading nowhere
Big night of CL action tonight but of course the only game Leeds fans will be interested in is at the King Power Stadium as Leicester take on Sunderland and as Sunderland are one of my tips to finish in the play offs I'm going to say they'll get something from the game. A good hiding I hear you all say
That would be sweet I think if Everton get a points deduction it'll be: Everton, Sheff Utd and Luton If not it'll be Sheff Utd, Luton and either Bournemouth/Burnley (with Bournemouth having the advantage) The team I'd most like to see relegated is Bournemouth The team I'd most like to see survive in the Prem is Sheff Utd.
I was there, the Monday after at school was the worst day in my life, up to that point. I hate Colchester and Chelsea too.
Sunderland playing really well at Leicester but yet are losing 1-0 and Leicester have also hit the post twice. Crazy game football.
Sure is… Leicester haven’t always played that great all season just been ruthless (well apart from tonight.) Boro are battering Norwich 0-0
I'm torn between Everton & Boremouth as my favourite to go down. Hopefully both will. Initially, I'd included Burnley, but the penny has just dropped that I have no problem with them these days, as it was their scumbag manager I hated. Then again, keep up these performances & they probably will go down anyway.
