I always find hostage situations intriguing from a psychological perspective - I watched a few weeks back some guy explaining how hostages have to adapt, to what is best termed as a matter of survival.

I've been racking my brain to try and think of the hostage situation many decades ago, but my memory has become very sketchy on it - I'm thinking of a female hostage who joined her captors as part of their terrorist group.

Back then we didn't have social media, so we were very reliant on western rags spill of the story, so it could have been false narratives. It was quite an infamous story, don't know if anyone else can remember it?

I've been somewhat confused by two versions of events over what happened, when Hamas crossed the border into Israel on that fatal day. There appears to be one side, that never intended to kill people, their task was to take as many hostages as possible (Two senior Hamas leaders claiming no civilians were killed). - so I have wondered during the planning stage whether another terrorist organisation infiltrated the plans and depending on which areas were infiltrated, marked your chances of survival - hence why we see hostages well treated, although not ignoring lots of different pschological events that are going on, and propaganda from both sides (Hamas & Israel). Would another terrorist group, allow Hamas to take the blame for their actions, would Hamas keep quiet over such an event happening, or maybe it was simply all Hamas and some were just raving lunatics?

 

I would never have recovered that name again without your input lol. I do now remember it was some Liberation Army but completely had erased the forename from memory, even with you saying it now.
