I think another aspect that confuses people is that they assume that the rules state that handball must be intentional - they absolutely don't. Any more, for that matter, that Serious Foul Play must be intentional: again, it totally doesn't have to be. I expect three-quarters of the Prem board to be uninformed pigshit-brained morons and even most 'sports' journalists also: but when TV is infested with equally gormless commentators and ex-players you're fighting a losing battle. And then you have the proven, undeniable FACT that half the ****ing PGMOL don't know the bastard rules as well.
I have always thought that to judge deliberate as difficult I think it’s easier to make it more a decision based on fact So all that needs to be answered is A) did the handball alter the trajectory or speed B) where was the ball going Eg if some one has hit a shot that is heading for row z and a player swings there arms to gain elevation above their head and the ball hits it if it’s going over then no pen If it’s going in - pen that’s how I believe it should be judged - no natural or un natural - no ball to hand or deflection crap either lol
