And how would Barry Cooper know what was said on the North Stand? Another poor attempt to be controversial. Like you saying delete a post as saying a boy would identify someone and cause them trauma. When the person in question is now 24 and being on social media describing his emotions about the perpetrator’s sentence.
That is the problem. We are creating chances that should be put away. Poor crosses and poor decisions cost us as well. Right at the start of the extra minutes we had the ball on the right just inside our half. Sat diagonally across in NE11 you could see two of their defenders on the halfway line at that side, all their defenders were up as they had been pressing. One of our players was rushing up down the left and a ball put forward between them would have had our player receiving it in the middle of their half at full speed with a clear run on goal. But what happened? Our player stopped, waited, turned round and passed it back. The chance had then gone as their defence was back by the time we played it forward again. Poor decision making, it is almost as though some of them are afraid to try and make a killer pass.
In Ipswich's case I think there are two considerations... 1. I someone higher up the food chain going to poach their manager and 2. Depending where they are at Xmas will the board go for it. In the summer they were quite frugal with financial signings.. Looking I think they have 7 on loan... were they not in for both Philogene and Twine...?
So they are doing it with 7 loanees , usual story in this division the best, cleverest or luckiest borrowers seem to do the best .
I've never heard any racial abuse at the ground in the almost 21 years it’s been open. If it did happen then plenty would have heard it then there will be witnesses and therefore an arrest, if true. One of which would be Barry Cooper, who could hear anything negative to write about city whilst wearing ear defenders in a vacuum chamber.
Watching Spurs and Fulham , could be City against any one , same pace , cagey , sit deep etc all the usual issues
I have heard racial abuse at City that was way back before we had any black players. Also heard Clive Sullivan receiving racial abuse at both Craven Park and the Boulevard though that never seems to get mentioned. Misunderstood your point. Apologies, Sometimes wonder if Cooper has some sort of agenda with City. Him , the SAG and the police seem intent on making the MKM Stadium the most sanitised stadium, devoid of atmosphere that there is.
Saturday was no different to our recent home games in that respect. We always have loads of good buildup play and get into great positions but waste the vast majority before getting a shot off. Plymouth and Coventry in particular we had loads of great positions.
Not sure I agree, we've had so many chances that we haven't been clinical enough with. Delap had 2-3 himself against Soton. We've also created plenty in other games that should have won us games (Plymouth, Millwall, and Leeds also spring to mind).
Lads who used to sit beside me in east used to say racist stuff. Always regret never pulling them up on it. Some of it against our own players. I just seethed and kept quiet unfortunately .
I know it's easy to say and obviously not provable either way, but I'm not so sure Oscar would have missed some of these chances, it's just what experience brings....a bit of calmness in those areas, he also did just have the nack of putting the ball in the back of the net. Obviously he also could have missed some of the chances others have scored etc
Absolutely, I think it's one of the few things we've agreed on lately! Don't even think he's doing very well in France?
