Then explain why he isn’t RP? I’ve said for a while now, we don’t know what target SL has set NP, I don’t think it’s a stretch to think that maybe NP hasn’t met it, and that is what’s delaying an extension. Just because you don’t like, doesn’t mean it may not be real. I like NP, but in the harsh reality of football management and running a club, SL might consider he has only done an OK job?

SL gave LJ a contract extension of 3 years during the time we lost 8 games on the spin, SL probably thought that was a ok job too. He is truly clueless when it’s comes to football matters and should leave the football side to people who know what they are talking about but his massive ego and nonsense statements like “it’s my club I can do what I want”, won’t allow this.
What does annoy a bit regarding Nige, pre match press conferences he makes a point of not being bothered of the players he needs to choose from when mentioning injuries etc.. Post match, he’s all over the fact we are thin on the ground for positions and how it’s affected us.. Basically one minute he has is it all under control the next when we haven’t played well it’s an issue.. A plus for me yesterday was he learnt by mistakes. He set the team out wrong yesterday but changed things when we were being overwhelmed by a decent side. Nothing wrong with that imo..
1For If he bemoans injury issues just before the game he's belittling and undermining the players deputising. What manager would do otherwise ? After the game its a totally different scenario. Surely you understand this ?
Over on OTIB Nige's simple solution is to change his name. Nigel Johnson has a 'ring' about it. Seriously though there must be a reason why he gave Junior an extension after losing 8 straight and won't come clean about Pearson.
Maybe he has learned his lesson after that mistake with LJ? Who knows, SL does what SL wants as it’s his club, and we’re all left second guessing him.
Not really, by saying he's thin on the ground because of injuries doesn't belittle other players at all IMO... especially if he has to play players in positions they're not used too......IMO by saying he's not bothered doesn't give much ammo to the board for the need to bring in more players or use funds as you like to put it...thinks he has it under control but then he doesn't...
Was it a mistake though? Longer term I suppose it was - with hindsight, because we didn’t get promoted, but just after that losing streak (and as soon as Pembo was sacked) we recovered form and battled at the top half of the table. I think that what we’ve learned from following this club of ours for years is the SL doesn’t know how to manage his managers.
Just back from my travels and listened to Nige after, let's face it from the comments I have seen, what was a ****e lucky win but 3 points very well made, along with some of Nigel's comments. Her we are back in the conundrums of all our yester years when we are constantly asking what the hell was happening and who was to blame for the annual celebration of "down go Bristol City again rum tum"? Why do we support such apathetic rubbish who constantly hide in the bushes when it comes down to answering any difficult situations such as what the hell is happening and when are you going to own up to some pretty stupid decisions along the way? Whether you know it or not you have one of the most professional managers in the club's history and you treat him like the mushrooms that were grown in brown messy stuff. To gain a growing supporter base going forward you must have the decency to keep them constantly informed of the plan for your combined futures and unless you do you will end up where you are right now. The product on the field appears to struggle more often than not and although the league position is O.K. the rumblings and uncertainty in the background is deafening to say the least, and that's not wanted by any of us.
Should SL sack NP then it will be the biggest mistake of his life. Even worse, and I can't believe I'm writing this, than employing the rookie Junior.
On performances and results and what we see in building the structure of what we have, definitely not.. We don’t know what goes on behind the scenes, the arrogant ways we know he is capable of could be causing issues with the suits.. The question is, if it’s a happy camp throughout..
