Just watched the Owls version of the extended highlights - 14 minutes long. A couple of Yorkie commentators spend a bit of time on the penalty incident - rather hilariously. When it was awarded, both were expressing doubts that it was a penalty & surprised that the ref had given it. When the ref changed his mind, they were both a bit miffed that he had. In their summary at the end they were both outraged, claiming that it was a penalty all along.
Just watched our version of the highlights, was not that bad, better to win ugly than lose playing pretty football Sema, Kone and Asprilla made all the difference, need a repeat on Tuesday and next Saturday to get us well clear of the bottom 3
Yes fully agree . I think we just need to play with more confidence and pace which they brought. Trouble is the inconsistency but then Kone and Asprilla are young so probably need time which as we know managers and fans don’t always give . Sema has always brought some energy and forward thinking to the team and if nothing else you know he will also give his best each time . Would help if the midfield was more solid and helped the defence control possession.
A bit left field but when we won promotion to the Prem under the Joker we had a back three, five in midfield and two up front How about a back three of Porteous, Sierralta and Hoedt. Martins and Ince as wing backs, playing on their correct sides, Livermore, Kone and Asprilla in midfield with Bayo and Healy up front Possibly a bit lightweight but gives options of 3 - 4 - 3, 3 - 5 - 2 or a substitution to convert to 4 - 3 -3
I have no idea why Healey isn’t given a chance . Has there been a falling out ? Did Ismael not want him .
If you remember it took a whole season to get Danny Welbeck fit and he then thanked us by jumping ship to Brighton
I think he was released tbf but yes guess he was another out for a long time and only came back post COVID lock down break having got injured at Spurs early in the season. And no like you say no desire to stay and hang around anyway after relegation,.
One of the 'contract terminated by mutual agreement' brigade. I often think that fans are entitled to a better explanation than that, rather than being left to speculate. In his case, was it either he didn't want to play in the Championship or were the club sick of his injury record? Don't know why we signed him in the first place - at every club he played for he spent an inordinate amount of time out with knee injuries. Probably all related to the Osgood-Schlatters disease he suffered from.
