Agreed The unequivocal recognitions of the state of Israel has to be part of any solution along with the creation of a Palestinian state. Both are essential. all aspirational I know but I’m a big big believer in 2 things; * where there’s a will, there’s a way * There is a solution to every problem
“We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us." ― Golda Meir, A Land of Our Own: An Oral Autobiography [1973]
She also said “There was no such thing as Palestinians” meaning they didn’t have a right to a homeland. Why Arabs who had lived in Palestine for generations didn’t have a right to the territory while Jews who hadn’t lived there for generations did is beyond my powers of understanding. Still, she gave a good sound bite on occasion. Of course the Israelis could have just declined to kill Arab children, but it’s easier to blame the Arabs,
Where is this mythical second state going to come from or will new Palestine just be gaza and the west bank
Trade for aid getting in from Egypt is my guess. Presumably Biden got Netanyahu to agree to it and stop bombing for a few minutes. Edit: seems like the Qataris played a big role, working directly with Hamas rather than as an intermediary.
Humanitarian reasons Sick mother Hamas didn't want an American hostage dying as it doesn't suit them at the moment
